Business Feature of the Week: Cafe 339

Sponsored by Kara Gora of Salon Kasara and John Yelkich, State Farm Insurance

If you would like your business featured, please contact salonkasara@gmail.com

Located at 339 Main Street in downtown Hobart, Cafe 339 proudly carries its address in its name—a simple tribute to the place it calls home and the community it serves.

Originally opened in 2010 by Dimitri and Myrna Karataglidis, the café quickly became a beloved local favorite and an award-winning staple in the community. In July of last year, Cafe 339 began an exciting new chapter when it was purchased by longtime customers Jeremy and Kelly Smith. Over the years, Dimitri would often ask Jeremy, “When I sell, do you want to buy?” What started as a lighthearted comment eventually became reality when Dimitri decided it was time to retire. Today, Jeremy and Kelly are honored to carry on the tradition and legacy that made Cafe 339 so special.

Jeremy brings more than 25 years of restaurant experience to the business. While guests can still expect the quality, service, and welcoming atmosphere they’ve always enjoyed, Jeremy and Kelly are excited to introduce new menu items and creative specials that complement the café’s long-standing favorites.

Cafe 339 is a popular breakfast and lunch destination known for its cozy atmosphere, exceptional service, and home-cooked meals made with only the freshest ingredients. Guest favorites include the Brickie Bowl, daily specials, homemade soups—especially the Greek Chicken Lemon Rice—and biscuits topped with signature gravy made from scratch. Pair your meal with freshly brewed iced tea, Kona coffee, or a Nescafé Frappé. For those looking to elevate brunch, the Boozy Brunch Cocktail Menu features options like the Bloody Mary, Lux Mimosa, and Calypso Coffee.

For added convenience, Cafe 339 is now available on DoorDash, with Uber Eats coming soon. Carryout is also available for those on the go—simply call ahead at 219-940-9644 to place your order.

Community involvement remains at the heart of Cafe 339. This past fall, the café hosted a special evening event titled “Giving Thanks,” a Thanksgiving dinner with proceeds benefiting the Humane Society. Being community-minded is an important part of who they are, and they look forward to hosting more evening dinners and special events in the coming year.

Jeremy and Kelly are also quick to credit their top-notch staff, expressing deep gratitude for their hard work and dedication. They recognize the vital role their team plays in the continued success of the café.

At Cafe 339, a day at the restaurant feels like a day spent with family. Treating every guest as such is a priority—and as always, it’s their pleasure to serve the Hobart community.

Stop in soon and experience the tradition, flavor, and hospitality that make Cafe 339 a true hometown favorite.

Cafe 339 owner, Jeremy Smith, with John Yelkich and Kara Gora.
