The Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce 2020 Annual General Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, December 3.
The meeting will include a review of our activities in 2020 and election of our 2021 Board of Directors.

With support from the Government of Canada’s Regional Relief and Recovery Fund, which is administered in Alberta by Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD), CFGPR is pleased to announce a second intake to the Digital Marketing Training program. Funding from WD will enable an additional 20 businesses and up to 40 people access to the program through early 2021.
Due to the experiential and hands on format of the training, space is limited. Applications for the program will be accepted until November 6. Successful applicants will be notified by November 13 with digital onboarding beginning at the end of November. COVID-19 risk mitigation and physical distancing measures will be acknowledged during in-person training with a contingency plan in place for a digital delivery model.

You asked and we listened! The County of Grande Prairie Business Support Network (BSN) is excited to launch the Blue Pin – Customer Service Excellence certification program for Managers and Front-Line Workers.
In an effort to ensure the training covers Employers’ needs, we wanted to get your input into the course offerings. At this time, we have two streams – Management and Front Line Worker.
For Blue Pin Certification, Managers will be required to compete 5 Core Courses and 3 Options; Front Line Workers would complete 3 Core Courses and 3 Options. A couple of exclusive offerings will also be available once or twice throughout the year to elevate our Customer Service brand in the region.

The first exhibition at our new home in 214 Place features new works by Suzanne Sandboe. Suzanne is an award winning artist from the Peace County with many pieces featuring beautiful, Canadian landscapes. Her many awards include a recent first place for "Sundown" at the Peace River Chapter FCA Show, titled A World of Contrast Show, in November 2019.
The exhibition is scheduled for November 12 through November 28, 2020.
We look forward to welcoming you into the gallery. To ensure compliance with current health guidelines, and to best manage traffic flow through the gallery, we are unfortunately not hosting an opening event for this exhibition.
All Artists Christmas Exhibition
Mark your calendars for the All Artists Christmas Exhibition, December 1 to December 24. During this annual, holiday exhibition, we aim to get as much artwork up as possible for your viewing and shopping convenience.

Saturday, November 21 from 10 AM to 6 PM
Sunday, November 22 from 11 AM to 5 PM
Robbie will be featuring a variety of prints, canvas prints, printed scarves, limited Holiday ornaments, photography prints, calendars, face masks and more.
Social distancing measures are being put in place with lineups in the 214 Place lobby. As per City of Grande Prairie Bylaw C-1426, masks are required while in the building.
Now through Christmas we are inviting you to bring your "bubble" to our galleries. Whether it’s your friend bubble or work bubble, we can provide your cohort with a safe evening out in a beautiful space. We welcome you to have food or appetizers brought in to complete your experience out. Please call the gallery to discuss.
We still offer exclusive appointments after hours and on weekends for those who are more comfortable browsing and shopping privately as we navigate through these times.
As 2020 comes to a close, we’d like to remind you that an Art Lease can be a valuable write-off for your business. Ask your employer if you are working from home or consult an accountant to see if you are eligible.
We would also like to thank Indigenous Tourism Alberta and Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada for their support in helping us navigate through the pandemic with guidance and financial supports. It truly is appreciated.
Bus Stop Philosophy (BS Philosophy) has been a project 7+ years in the conception and making is now ready to launch. The series of three books are filled with quotes and sayings collected over the years by myself, Grant Berg. Content covers topics such as art, politics, social media, life, death and random and pure BS.
A limited number of 100 copies of each book are being printed for the launch and will be available to purchase at the Grant Berg Gallery. Half of all the books are numbered, personally signed and packaged as a complete set. The remaining 50 from the initial print are being sold individually.
