On March 17, 2020 the Rotary Club of Grande Prairie is excited to invite our business partners and community members to our official launch of the D’Company Community Hub Project.
This 76-year-old building has a rich military history and it currently services as the base for 200+ Air and Army Cadets. It is often rented for community and private events, including Play Zone summer camps, it also serves the larger community by housing events such as Rotary’s Rise Against Hunger and Friends of Grande Spirit Foundation Garage Sale.
Unfortunately, as its importance as a gathering space has increased over the years, D’Coy’s usability has deteriorated. The aging building desperately needs to be repaired, restored and modernized.
The Rotary Club of Grande Prairie is contributing $1.8 M towards this capital campaign to raise $3.5 M to see the D’Coy transformed to a vibrant Community Hub. This ambitious restoration project will be the continued home to the Air and Army Cadets and other potential tenants. The proposed project will return the hall to its original footprint, providing a large multi-purpose recreational space, available for events and programming. Updated meeting and classrooms provide space for community associations and not-for-profits to build a stronger and more vibrant community.
Join us for some light refreshments at the D’Coy Armouries (9005 101 St) to learn more about this undertaking and how you can support this endeavour.
Doors open at 5:00pm, presentation at 5:30 and enjoy a demonstration by the Tri-Service Drill Team!
Please RSVP to . See you there!
