May always marks the start of graduation season and then subsequently summer vacation. My oldest is graduating from Plant City High School this year and is going on to pursue his dreams at the University of Florida - my how time flies! My youngest also graduates from VPK this year. It's hard to believe that all three of my children have grown up so quickly! My hope for you is that in this busy season of life we take a moment to pause and plan the upcoming months with intention and purpose. As a staff we like to use the summer months as our planning time so that we can start the busy fall event season well prepared. It's important to do the same in your business. Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies

Thursday, April 11
th
, The Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce had the honor of hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony for new Chamber member Material Lifecycle Management Company (MLMC)!
MLMC sources raw materials from its suppliers and turns them into enviro- fuel cubes that it sells as a cleaner alternative to coal. They view their relationship with the companies that supply the material collected for the fuel, as partners in a sustainability venture. Building a solid relationship with their partners is paramount. Within a year's time, it is expected that MLMC will divert up to 50K tons of waste from landfills, with the capacity to divert as much as 300K tons of waste in the near future.
"If a company has waste consisting of plastics and all types of packaging material, MLMC will come and do a free survey to determine potential cost savings for them. It's a win, win, WIN! Their company, our company and especially the ENVIROMENT wins!"

Ribbon Cutting: Back Pocket Recording Studio

On Thursday, April 25th The Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Back Pocket Recording Studio! Back Pocket Recording Studio is a full-service studio that offers tracking, editing, mixing, mastering and production. We provide state-of-the-art equipment to individuals, bands, and organizations looking to discover their best sound. Our mission is to provide our clients a fun and stress-free recording experience, a quality product in a timely manner, at a reasonable price.

Beginning in January 2019, the Plant City Chamber launched a new initiative to recognize members who are involved, regularly attending meetings and events, and are truly getting the most out of their membership through their involvement. At each chamber event in 2019, the red bucket will be present - simply drop you business card in the bucket for a chance to be next month's Member of the Month! The more you attend, the more likely you are to be selected. Each month the business that is drawn from the red bucket and selected as the Member of the Month will be highlighted in the Chamber's newsletter Chamber Connections, showcased on social media, and given a sign to proudly display in the storefront or front entry of their business.

The Leadership Plant City Class of 2019 completed their class project on Friday, April 26th! After raising over $6,000 for the Plant City Commons Community Garden they hosted Garden Walk 2019 at the space. The evening included garden tours, complimentary food and wine, a markers market, and plants up for adoption.
