It’s March! Time for warmer temps, Spring, and Daylight Savings Time on 3/9. No matter the weather outside, our attitude sets the tone for everything we do. Here’s a little March Motivation:

Henry Ford once said, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t – you’re right.”

This is so true! A positive attitude, coupled with determination, can help us accomplish many things. You never know what you are capable of until you try!

March is a busy month, full of events in and around Defiance. Details are listed below, including the monthly First Friday Luncheon and Business After Hours. Make plans to come and consider bringing along your coworkers and a prospective Chamber member.

Chamber Foundation Makes Donation

We are pleased to share that the Board of Directors of the Defiance Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation made year-end contributions to four Chamber member non-profit organizations.

In November 2024, the Chamber Foundation held its annual Reverse Raffle Fundraiser. As is customary, the Chamber Foundation retained ownership of any unsold raffle tickets, and at the end of the event, it held the first-place winning ticket.

The Chamber Foundation Board voted to donate the first-place prize money equally to four non-profit organizations that are members of the Defiance Area Chamber of Commerce. Randomly selected to receive $1,000 donations were The Alzheimer’s Association, Black Swamp Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Defiance High School – Hope Squad, and Fort Defiance Humane Society.

We are honored to support these worthy Chamber member non-profit organizations and applaud the good work they do in our community and region.

Sedgwick Substance Use Prevention & Recovery Program (SURP)

The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation is merging the Drug Free Safety and Substance Use Recovery programs into a new, streamlined program called Substance Use Prevention & Recovery Program (SUPR). BWC made the changes to enhance and simplify overlapping programs into one integrated, unified program. The goal is to reduce customer confusion, increase program utilization, reduce customer paperwork, improve internal administrative efficiencies and streamline processes for both customers and BWC.
