We met with Delegates Krizek and Sickles and Senators Barker, Ebbin, and Surovell. After our meetings, it was off to lunch and then a tour of the State Capitol. CDC Guidance for Business on COVID-19
|
As COVID-19 Coronavirus continues to spread globally, impacting commerce and communities, the Chamber would like to provide useful tools and resources for you. The Center for Disease Control has issued
“Interim Guidance for Businesses and Employers to Plan and Respond to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)”
This is the CDC recommended guidance for employers, including advice for developing a response plan and steps that all employers can implement now. Based on what is currently known about the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) (Feb 2020).
The Chamber encourages you to review your response plans for any potential crisis, from developing a business continuity plan to evaluating HR policies regarding leaves of absence and determining how best to communicate with your employees and customers.

Chamber Business Scholarship
|
Scholarship applications are now available for 2020 graduating high school seniors pursuing further education in business. At least $12,000 in scholarships will be awarded. These scholarships are made available through the generous contributions of the business community in Mount Vernon and Lee Districts to develop and support future business and community leaders.

Connecting interested students with local businesses is the goal of the West Potomac High School Job Fair on Thursday, March 26, 3:00 – 4:15. They have students looking for employment opportunities after school, during the summer and even June grads looking for options after high school graduation. Construction is almost complete on George Mason's Historic Riverside Garden at Gunston Hall. The final hardscaping elements will soon be finished and guests will be welcomed to the new space on April 1. Throughout April and May, guided tours will include a stop in the garden.
