December 2023 Member of the Month
MEID Construction is owned and operated by Todd Schaal and Richard Kristan. The two met as freshman at Clarkson University. Shortly thereafter, Todd and Rich became close friends and started contracting part time after classes and during summer vacations. MEID began in earnest in 1994. Both men finished their educations at Clarkson, Rich majoring in Industrial Design and Todd studying mechanical engineering. Both also served in the United States Army and received honorable discharges. Their company started as a construction business and has continued to evolve and diversify into its many facets
Todd’s son Alex joined the team this past summer bringing his Civil Engineering degree (P.E.) from Temple University. Rich’s son Zachary will be joining the team this January bringing his Civil Engineering degree from West Virginia University
The owners know that the skill and ability of their workforce is critical to their continuing success. The Office Manager will answer the phone when you call MEID and will assist you with all facets of the business and can ensure that you talk directly to the person(s) required to assist you. The property manager will assist you directly with all rental property concerns. MEID has its roots in the Central New York area and has been in continuous operation in the Oneida area since its inception. Rich and Todd live in the area and both established homes and raised their families in close proximity to their office. They are involved in their community, their children’s schools, and their business. As such they recognize the importance of not only being involved but also in giving back to their communities. They have made and continue to make contributions to youth activities, schools, churches, and community projects.
In the last year M.E.I.D., Construction has expanded its Electrical Division to Five (5) full time employees. Our electrical services include Residential, Commercial and Industrial Services along with Generator installation & repairs.
We have also developed a full time Commercial Cabinetry division that can design and manufacture the perfect workplace for any business. Our team has delivered superior cabinet solutions for commercial and institutional customers across NY State.
