MPCA grants available for businesses

MPCA grants for electric vehicle charging stations for fleet vehicles - due May 7

The MPCA recently released a request for proposal (RFP) to install Level 2 and/or Level 3 EV charging stations at Minnesota facility locations serving fleet vehicles.
This program is intended to reduce air emissions through increased use of electric vehicles for fleet purposes in an effort to support a healthy environment for all Minnesotans and achieve emissions reductions across the state, especially in high population areas most impacted by vehicle pollution.
Eligible applicants include fleet owners at for-profit businesses, nonprofit organizations, and public entities including state, tribes, counties, municipalities, schools, and higher education institutions. The maximum award is $5,000 per single-station and $10,000 per dual-station with a 25% minimum match. Approximately $170,000 in funding is available.
Apply now! Deadline: May 7, 2019
To learn more about this grant opportunity and download the application forms, visit the Grants for charging stations for EV fleets webpage.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Gig Speed Now Available to Eastern South Dakota and Southwestern Minnesota
Vast Broadband Finalizes Launch of 1 Gig Internet Service Across the Region

Vast Broadband, one of the region's leading broadband Internet providers, recently rolled out 1 gigabit per second (Gbps) Internet service to all of their Eastern South Dakota and Southwestern Minnesota service area. This completes all phases of the rollout for Gig services for Vast's entire service area, including Sioux Falls, Watertown, Yankton, Madison and Elk Point in South Dakota and Marshall, Pipestone and Worthington in Minnesota.
Vast previously launched 1 Gig service to the entire Black Hills. Vast residential and business services are currently available to almost 135,000 potential customers across South Dakota and Southwestern Minnesota.
Vast Broadband's 1 Gig Internet service offers customers high-speed Internet with no data caps, no contract and a 30-day money-back guarantee. Prices start as low as $79.99 a month and include a free in-home WiFi assessment. This assessment tells homeowners where and why WiFi signal strength may be weak in their homes, and how to correct it.
Gig service aims to meet the increasing demand of both residential and business customers for faster networks and speeds.
"So far reception of our Gig service has been positive. We've had several early adopters and pre-orders. Our entire service area is now able to enjoy these speeds with Vast Broadband," said Mark Bookout, regional director of operations at Vast Broadband.
Service is now available to the entire Vast Broadband footprint.
"We've invested more than $60 million across South Dakota and Southwestern Minnesota in the past four years. This has brought network upgrades and better infrastructure to develop a solid, future-proof network that can service the needs of consumers in the region," said Bookout. "We plan to continue bringing cutting-edge technology and best-in-class service across Internet, cable, smart home and phone service."
Business owners know a fast, reliable Internet connection is a critical component to their productivity and profitability. Businesses can expect 1 Gig speeds and more with higher upload speeds to meet their needs. Vast offers a multitude of diverse solutions for small, medium and large enterprise businesses.
"Having premium Internet service, like Vast 1 Gig, is not only important in the home but critical for businesses. Having access to 1 Gig services can help in the recruiting process when talking to new businesses," added Bookout.
Vast 1 Gig Internet is now available across Eastern South Dakota and Southwestern Minnesota. For special rates, visit VastBroadband.com or call 888-745-2888 for details.
Vast Broadband is an Internet, TV, TiVo ® , IntelliHome, and phone provider serving South Dakota and Minnesota. Vast delivers world-class services backed by local service technicians and a call center located in South Dakota.
