Marshall Community Foundation Fall Grant Cycle

The Marshall Community Foundation (MCF) is pleased to announce that our fall grant cycle has begun. We are accepting applications from Marshall non-profits to support the great work they do in our community.

The deadline for completion is end of day Thursday, October 4, 2018. Completed forms may be emailed to give@marshall-cf.org.

Grant requests may be submitted for up to $5,000 and must align with the foundation's priorities of:

*   Community Improvement
*   Diversity
*   Wellness
*   Youth Development

We prefer to fund new/enhanced programs and partnerships or one-time projects.

The Marshall Community Foundation is one of over 20 community foundations established via partnership with the Southwest Initiative Foundation. A local advisory board identifies needs in the community, grants dollars to local non-profits, and raises funds to grow the endowment. Earnings from the foundation's endowment are used to fund grants offered twice per year. MCF has granted over $140,000 since it's founding.

Donations to MCF are always welcome. Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law. Donations are accepted online via https://www.givemn.org/project/Marshall-Community-Foundation-Endowment-Fund.<https://www.givemn.org/project/Marshall-Community-Foundation-Endowment-Fund>

SW ABE New Program Director

ABE Staff and Partners of SW ABE

We are pleased to announce that See Moua-Leske has accepted the Leadership position for the Marshall/Granite Falls region and will begin on September 10, 2018. Our program will take on the new name of SW ABE North as she serves both Regions.   As she joins us, she brings a rich history of teaching experience, education, and culture. See is passionate and energetic, and is sure to bring a new life into our program. See has been kind enough to provide us with a little background information about herself; please see below. Please join us in welcoming See to this new adventure!

My name is See Moua-Leske. I was born in Laos and immigrated to Green Bay, Wisconsin when I was four years old. I currently live in Marshall, MN where I reside with my husband, son, and dog. I was previously a K-12 ESL and 1-3 Special Education teacher at Tracy Area School District in Tracy, MN. I have nine years of teaching experience. I have my Masters in Special Education and am currently working on my Masters in ESL.

I completed my Elementary Education undergraduate degree at Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin. I taught at New Millennium Academy, a Hmong charter school in Minneapolis for a couple years before relocating to Marshall for love, and to be close to the rest of my family.

In my free time, I love to read, spend time with my family and wander around Menards looking for DIY projects.
I am very excited to be on this new journey and I look forward to meeting everyone!

As the Program Director of the Marshall program for the past 19 plus years, it is with great pleasure I feel I can leave SW ABE in very capable and energetic hands.   See has a lot to learn as with any new job but I feel she will do a fantastic job taking our program to a new level of better services for our students and communities.
Her new work email is See.Moua-Leske@marshall.k12.mn.us . Her office will be in the Social Science Building at SMSU - Room 123.   Her office phone number is the ABE office number 537-7046. I would encourage all to reach out to welcome her!
