Walz touts opportunities from $17.6B budget surplus |

ST. PAUL — Minnesota lawmakers learned Tuesday they will head into the 2023 legislative session with a massive $17.6 billion projected budget surplus, and Gov. Tim Walz said he would like to return some of that money to taxpayers with rebate checks.
“The golden opportunity that we have to make Minnesota an even better and fairer and more inclusive and more prosperous state is there,” Walz said after the state budget agency released the new forecast. “And the opportunity to work together in the legislative bodies to make that happen is there.” However, some southwest Minnesota officials expressed a different opinion on how the state should handle the surplus. “There has to be some sort of tax reform,” Marshall Area Chamber of Commerce President Brad Gruhot said. “It says that we are overtaxing our citizens,” State Sen. Gary Dahms, R-Redwood Falls, said Tuesday. “It’s just not fair to the taxpayers.”...

Chamber E-Connection Guidelines and Policies | |
Newsletter Goals and Audience
The purpose of the Chamber E-Connection newsletter is to share our members' events with other business and community members. It is an informational newsletter and helps to promote our member businesses and their events. Each Friday, our newsletter is sent to over 1,600 individuals. Our separate emails are sent to the same list, but are held especially for our Chamber events and Business After Hours.
Newsletter Policy
E-Connection events are included based on requests from the member business. The following criteria are
requested by the Marshall Area Chamber for event submissions:
- Events flyers or submissions must be an actual event. We do not include sales or promotions.
- Events can be included in the E-Connection for one week free of charge, and you have the option of adding one additional week for $20.

Submissions must be sent the Wednesday prior to that Friday's E-Connection to be included email chamber@marshallmn.org
- All event flyers are for Marshall Area Chamber of Commerce members only.
