Sales Tax Holiday Poll
On Monday, the St. Charles County Council introduced a bill opting St. Charles County out of the Back To School Sales Tax Holiday. The holiday is held the first Friday in August each year and continues through the weekend and is on certain items such as clothing, school supplies, computers, and other items as defined by the statute. Given that St. Charles County's budget relies on sales taxes and the rate of increase has slowed due to not being able to charge for Internet sales.
What are your thoughts? Do you support opting out or continuing the Sales Tax Holiday?
