Five Acres Animal Shelter Supervisor (Randolph location) Kayla Kammerer and Ward 7 Councilman Michael Flandermeyer celebrated the grand reopening of the newly remodeled St. Charles Animal Shelter on Tuesday, November 9, 2021.
Joining Kayla and Michael was City of St. Charles Mayor Dan Borgmeyer, animal control staff members, volunteers with Five Acres Animal Shelter, ambassadors and staff with the Greater St. Charles County Chamber of Commerce.
Located at 2835 W. Randolph Street in St. Charles, Five Acres Animal Shelter and the City of St. Charles have combined forces to allow Five Acres Animal Shelter to care for the animals in the St. Charles City Animal Shelter. The Animal Control Officers will still provide animal control services for the city. The Randolph location of Five Acres is a no-kill shelter and accepts strays and surrendered animals – not just dogs and cats. Other animals such as hamsters, gerbils, rabbits, birds, hedgehogs and other pets will be accepted and either fostered or available for adoption.
For more information on hours of operation, services provided and pets that are available for adoption please visit their website at fiveacresanimalshelter.org or stcharlescitymo.gov and click on the animal welfare services tab. You can also call their office at 636-949-3395 to inquire about a lost animal that may have been picked up by one of the Animal Control officers through the City of St. Charles.
