Voters turn out in record numbers in primary election
This Primary Election, many Minnesotans got out and used their voice to help decide the candidates who would be up for election in November. "Elections officials in Ramsey County predicted a higher turnout than in any state primary for the last 25 years, and Hennepin County saw a strong and steady showing at the polls all day long."

State Gains 11,200 Jobs in July
Minnesota employers added 11,200 jobs in July, according to seasonally adjusted figures released today by the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED).

With those gains, the state has added 31,800 jobs over the past three months, which is the third-highest number of new jobs over a three-month span dating back to 1990.

Minneapolis mayor's proposed budget focuses on boosting funding for affordable housing
In his first budget speech as Minneapolis mayor, Jacob Frey on Wednesday proposed a $1.5 billion 2019 budget. "Frey spoke for nearly 45 minutes and focused heavily on the lack of affordable housing in the city, promoting homeownership, protecting tenants' rights and strengthening police and community relations."

Mayo Clinic named top hospital in the nation
The Mayo Clinic has once again topped a list of the nation’s best hospitals. U.S. News & Worl d Report issued their 2018 rankings last week, and the institution was topped the rankings. The rankings were determined by hospital service in 16 areas and nine bellwether procedures.
