June 2021
Thankful in These Ongoing Unique Times

With each passing week, we are collectively making huge strides in getting the pandemic under control and back to quote-unquote normal. While enduring this monumental challenge has been difficult, it's also a bit surreal and awesome too of course to be fully "re-emerging" together.

It's great that Maine is a national leader in vaccination rates, in keeping with our State's excellent relative response to the pandemic since last year compared to other areas of the country. It's allowing many of us to get back out there safely. Most of us who are fully vaccinated either already have or will soon experience:

  • Seeing everyone's entire face, not just their eyes and a mask
  • Hugging folks that you haven't seen live since last March
  • Visiting family and friends that were not in your bubble
  • Eating inside a restaurant and lingering for dessert or coffee
  • Meeting with colleagues or customers in person vs. Zoom
  • Making plans to have fun with others this summer
  • Going to events (and hopefully Chamber events that are coming up!)

We have longed for this time for so long, and now that's it basically upon us, it's a strange combination of falling back on what comes easy, while every once in a while stopping short with a moment of hesitancy and residual anxiety. As we marvel at our renewed sense of freedom, let's all keep supporting local businesses, while staying smart and safe and vigilant in the process - and we wish you a much-deserved heck of a better summer of 2021 than 2020!

Biddeford Cultural Coalition
Survey Request

Arts and culture can have profound impacts on quality of life and local economic development. Through a grant awarded by the Maine Arts Commission, the Biddeford Planning and Development Department is embarking on a cultural plan for Biddeford that will help guide cultural offerings going forward.

The City is working with local arts, heritage, and culture organizations, and with Reinholt Consulting of Phillips, Maine to create a plan to provide a vision and implementation strategies to help establish Biddeford as a cultural destination. Both residents and visitors to Biddeford are encouraged to help by responding to the surveys below. Please choose the version most relevant for you. Your feedback is much appreciated:

Chamber Member to Member Specials & Savings

We love it when Chamber members work with each other, including offering special savings opportunities to each other. There are some impressive member Hot Deals on our website at: Please let us know if you'd like to add a Hot Deal for your business to this listing.

A great offer was recently sent in to us by Holly Pritchard of chamber member Patriot Subaru. Members who refer a customer that ends up purchasing a vehicle from her will be rewarded with $150. CLICK HERE for all the details about this specific opportunity.

In general, now that many of us are visiting other businesses live vs. online, don't forget to look for fellow Chamber members via their membership sticker, and let them know you are a member too. Your ongoing support of the Chamber and each other is much appreciated!
