  • The awards recognize local women who have made a strong impact as leaders, innovators and change-makers in the community, and honour women who have made outstanding contributions to their industries or fields through their leadership and entrepreneurship, meaningful accomplishments and achievements, and breaking down barriers or making significant advancements.
  • The awards are open to women of all backgrounds and experiences to recognize leadership and innovation in all its forms and celebrate the strength and diversity of the women in our community.
  • Our region is known for its vibrancy, entrepreneurship and continuous growth and these awards are a way to show appreciation for the many ways that women are making significant contributions to our social and economic development.
  • Awards were created to commemorate International Women's Day in Grande Prairie. The 2019 theme "Balance for Better" calls for collective action and shared responsibility to create a gender-balanced world at every level.

Nathan Woodruff began working with Thompson & Associates' predecessor firm Thompson Lambert LLP in November, 2002 during his final year of engineering. He received both a BSc (Engineering Physics) with distinction and an LLB from the University of Alberta. Nathan is a lawyer and a registered patent agent. 
He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada.
Thompson Woodruff is a boutique law firm based in Edmonton, Alberta providing drafting and prosecution services in the areas of patents, trademarks, industrial designs, copyright, and trade secrets.
