Our previous events have been great successes thanks to the overwhelming support of our community, partners, and sponsors.

Let's all work to keep the conversations around mental health and suicide prevention going!

What is the Dignity Drive all about?
The four Rotary Clubs and Rotaract club in Grande Prairie have teamed together to collect new/unused underwear and socks for homeless and street-involved people, as well as others who would benefit by having these items.

Why underwear and socks?
Access to clean underwear and socks is essential for one’s comfort, health, and hygiene. Wearing clean underwear and socks also contributes significantly to one’s sense of value and dignity as well as one’s confidence and motivation to aspire. This fact applies to all people but is especially applicable for individuals who are attempting to transition out of homelessness and away from street-related activities. Underwear and socks are the most needed staple clothing but are the least donated items to centers that shelter and serve homeless and street-involved individuals.

When is the Dignity Drive held?
Due to the high and ever pressing need of these items, the campaign is held in the Fall during the month of October and in the Spring during the month of April.

Which agencies in Grande Prairie will distribute the donations?
The agencies who will distribute the items are: The Grande Prairie Friendship Centre, Canadian Mental Health Association-Alberta Northwest Region, Northreach Centre, Saint Lawrence Centre, and Rotary House.
The 3 Point Perspective exhibition opens Thursday, October 7 at 7-9pm

This will not be like openings that we have had in the past, we do not have a liquor license and likely won’t again until after the pandemic. We will be participating in the Restrictions Exemption Program (REP).

REP requires us to view one of the following before entering the gallery:
• COVID-19 immunization record, or
• proof of a negative rapid test result taken within 72 hours of service, or
• documentation of a medical exemption (letter from a doctor)

We decided we want to participate in the REP simply because we want to make the exhibition accessible to as many people as possible. Masks, as per AHS, are mandatory to enter. Please use the direct access doors on 100th Ave, right below our sign. We may have to control traffic numbers but if we do, we have the 214 Place lobby so people aren’t waiting outside.

Also for perspective, this is considered extended retail hours and not a gathering. The show and sale will be up for a month so there will be plenty of opportunities to take in the show.

Helping our Neighbours still looks Different This Year… and we need YOUR help!

We have extended the annual campaign this year as we were unable to do our historical door-to-door canvassing and are connecting online.

Thank you to all of you who have already generously supported us, we are very grateful for the donations, sponsorships & food we have received so far. Every donation means someone else does not have to go without - please check out our goal thermometer on www.gpfooddrive.ca and help us reach our goal.

How can you help?

We need your help to engage friends, neighbours and co-workers. Together we can make our annual Food Bank Drive a success!

Visit our online store at www.gpfooddrive.ca
  • have fun purchasing food items, or a hamper, or make a financial donation. Your donation will provide food for members of our community - our friends, family, neighbors, classmates, co-workers.
Did you know that last year we saw an increase of 63% in the number of food hampers given out in our community? Of the 6,588 total individuals served, 44% were children.

Share Share Share

If each person shared the message with 10 contacts (by email, phone or in person), who shared with 10 contacts, we can fill the shelves and ensure that members of our community don't go hungry.

Let's get creative - do you have a group of friends that can work together $10 - $25 each? Maybe you want to challenge 5-10 friends to contribute equivalent to their last meal out? Share your ideas!
