The Pike County Chamber of Commerce held its annual banquet and award ceremony on Jan. 24 at the Pike County Career Technology Center.
Shirley Bandy, director of the Pike County Chamber of Commerce, kicked off the program by introducing those who "helped out" with the 2018 Chamber of Commerce banquet and award ceremony: JP Schmitt (2018 Chamber of Commerce president), Chris Ervin (vice president), Bridget Barker (administrative assistant) and Paul Price (treasurer).
Bandy also acknowledged the 2018 Pike County Chamber of Commerce banquet committee: Sharon Manson, Amy Clemmons, Judy Dixon, Maleine Davis, Julie Galloway, and Teri Pack.

LOCAL VETERAN AWARDED
Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year
Jack Dixon, lifelong Pike County resident and Korean War veteran, received the 2018 Citizen of the Year award from the Pike County Chamber of Commerce at its annual banquet and award ceremony held at the Pike County Career Technology Center on Jan. 24.
Dixon received the award in recognition of his "dedication and countless volunteer hours devoted to community service and to Honor Guard ceremonial duties during athletic events, parades, memorials and military funeral services."

District 9 Area Road Closures
The following routes on the state and federal highway system in ODOT District 9 remain closed today, February 8, due to flooding:
- Adams County: S.R. 348 between its junction with S.R. 125 and C.R. 5 (Compton Hill Road);
- Pike County: S.R. 124 at S.R. 772 and the community of Idaho;
- Pike County: S.R. 220 at C.R. 51 (River Road), two miles south of Waverly; and
- Scioto County: S.R. 73 between the Adams County line and S.R. 772 at Rarden.
These closures are in effect until further notice, and motorists are reminded that crossing any closed route is strictly prohibited.
