New Grant Opportunity for 
Appalachian Communities

The U.S. Department of Labor announced announced $29 million is now available via the Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities (WORC). initiative to implement innovative approaches to provide enhanced training and support activities to dislocated workers, new entrants in the workforce, incumbent workers, and individuals affected by substance use disorder returning to work. Successful awards, ranging from $150,000 - $2.5 million, will support workforce development activities that prepare eligible participants for good jobs in high-demand occupations aligned with a state, regional, or community economic development strategy. Communities across Appalachia, especially those underserved by other resources, are encouraged to apply.

This is an amazing opportunity! Applications are due July 15, 2019.

Nina R. Keller Named Executive Director 
of the  Area Agency on Aging District 7 

Nina R. Keller, MSW, LSW, was recently promoted to and named Executive Director of the Area Agency on Aging District 7 (AAA7), according to Rick Marriott, President of the AAA7 Board of Trustees. Keller had been serving as Interim Director since November 2018 and the Assistant Director and Director of Planning since January 2001.

"We feel very fortunate to have someone like Nina Keller within our Management Team," commented Marriott. "The Board of Trustees are confident that Ms. Keller will provide excellent leadership for the AAA7 and we look forward to what she will bring to the organization."


3rd Annual Recovery Celebration

The Paint Valley ADAMH Board will be holding a Recovery Celebration on September 12, 2019. In order to help celebrate recovery we will be honoring a Mental Health and an Addiction Advocate of the Year as well as a Crisis Intervention Team Champion of the Year.
