Lake White Level Management
Geotechnical Soil Borings

With rain in the forecast for the weekend, The Division of Parks and Watercraft will be leaning forward in lake level management by lowering the spillway gates and additional 4 to 5 inches.  Currently, the gates are 8 inches below summer pool elevation.

As those of you in the area are probably already aware, the contractor has mobilized a barge-based drilling rig to take geotechnical soil borings in order to obtain soil information along the shoreline portion of the dam.  These borings are expected to take 3-5 weeks.  Be aware that additional soil borings will be obtained by accessing the area from SR 104.  These borings will also be performed in November and December.

In what better month could we express our gratitude for the 90 million
family caregivers nationwide who provide countless hours of care to their
loved ones? The national theme for this year's special observation is,
"Supercharge Your Caregiving", with an emphasis on encouraging caregivers
to learn more about services and programs that are available to help
them in their caregiving role.

Open Enrollment for Medicare
Ends  December 7th -  AAA7 Available for Assistance and Help

Are you a Medicare beneficiary? Are you aware that open enrollment for  some Medicare benefits ends December 7th? Open enrollment is the
time of the year when changes can be made in the plans and providers
you've chosen for your Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage
and/or Medicare Advantage option. If you wish to make changes,
you can only do so between October 15th and December 7th. Open enrollment is also a good time to run drug comparisons to make sure the Medicare Part D plan you are on is still your best option as Medicare Part D plans do change from year to year.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPMC) has announced the launch of AdvancingCities, a $500 million, five-year initiative to advance lasting solutions that will lead to more people connected to jobs with a career pathway and living with financial security, more small business owners growing and hiring, and economically vibrant neighborhoods.  The firm will invest in cities where conditions exist to help those who have not benefited from economic growth. This includes demonstrated, strong collaboration across the public and private sectors on solutions that create opportunity for people at risk of being left out of economic growth. Proposals must incorporate at least two areas of focus within JPMorgan Chase's  Model for Impact Solutions will help break down silos between local programs, strengthen underlying systems and advance holistic solutions to create more widely-shared prosperity.

Cities interested in applying for the AdvancingCities Challenge should visit  www.jpmorganchase.com/advancingcities. The RFP went live and closes on November 30, 2018. Winners will be announced in the spring of 2019.
