CHAMBER RADIO DAY
The annual Chamber Radio Day is scheduled for Saturday, May 18th from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. This is an annual fundraiser for the Chamber where you can advertise your business, event or honor someone special during the broadcast day on KSHN 99.9 FM. Chamber staff, volunteers and members read news, sports, weather and other announcements during the broadcast day with assistance from KSHN staff.

You can purchase at least three 30-second commercials for $75 per set (other sets are offered as well). Options are also available for providing advertising copy to the Chamber. Instructions and information can be found in the advertising form. For question contact the Chamber at 936.336.5736.
CONGRESSMAN BABIN OFFICE IN DAYTON
The satellite office of Congressman Brian Babin has relocated from Cleveland City Hall to the Dayton Police Department at 2004 N. Cleveland Street. Congressman Babin's Constituent Services Representative, Will Carter, will be assisting area residents from this location. To make an appointment call 832.780.0966.
FUNDRAISER FOR SAFE SCHOOLS
To benefit the Safe Schools Program, Multi-County Crime Stoppers will present Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers at the Crighton Theatre in Conroe on Saturday, May 4th starting at 8 p.m. Multi-County Crime Stoppers is a volunteer operated non-profit dedicated to keeping Montgomery, Liberty and San Jacinto Counties a safe place to live, work and play. Tickets are available and sponsors are needed for this concert event. Visit them online at montgomerycountycrimestoppers.org.
2019 DAYTON OLE TYME DAYS
This year's Dayton Ole Tyme Days is set for Friday thru Sunday, April 12-14 in downtown Dayton. Featured events will include a car & bike show, tractor show, pageant show, junior chili cookoff, carnival, car show, Jeep show, craft show, vendors, live music and more. Proceeds benefit Dayton ISD scholarships.
The next bus trip to Coushatta Resort & Casino in Kinder, Louisiana is scheduled for Thursday, May 16. The cost is $15. For reservations contact Eliza Guidry at 936.402.0340. More information on the bus trip can be found at the Chamber website.

Chrysalis School in Liberty, Texas:

Chrysalis School is now accepting applications for the 2019-2020 school year. Applications can be picked up at the school located at 617 Texas Avenue in Liberty. Deadline for returning applications is Friday, June 14, 2019. Chrysalis is a Christian-based education program sponsored by New Work Family Worship Center. The school serves the educational needs of students in grades 1-12 in a private, Christian environment. For more information please call Chrysalis School at 936.336.2229.

Chrysalis School recently held a raffle and Mary Anne Campbell was on hand Wednesday, April 3 to draw the winning tickets. Emily Kuchan won first prize which was a whole butchered calf. Second prize was a 128 GB iPad won by Tonya Warner. Third prize, a $250 VISA gift card, was won by Tracy Jackson. Congratulation to the winners! Thanks to all those that supported Chrysalis through this fundraiser.

TRINITY RIVER REFUGE SEEKS VOLUNTEER HELP
From Laurie Gonzales and Stuart Marcus at the Trinity River National Wildlife Refuge:

May 4 - Spring Outdoor Celebration. We will have live animals, non-living exhibits, and will need help putting everything up and taking everything down. This event gets pretty wild and we need all the help we can get. It will be held in Mont Belvieu and for those interested we will provide you with the time of event.

May 18 - Hug-a-tree/Kiss-a-fish. This event is similar to Liberty Jubilee and Spring Outdoor celebration. It is a festival at Camp Cullen YMCA near Trinity, TX. You can carpool with us to get there and back. We will have live animals, non-living exhibits, and will need help putting everything up and taking everything down. Bonus: They feed volunteers at this festival. If you think you can do this, let us know ASAP.

The Champion Lake Public Use Area is open again. Culvert damage from Hurricane Harvey has been fixed and a new restroom is available. Champion Lake Public Use Area is located at the end of County Road 417 off FM 1409 south of Dayton. It is open from sunrise to sunset, free of charge.
NEW HOURS AND SERVICES AT HCSET
Starting April 1, Health Center of Southeast Texas has extended hours at their Liberty location from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Their address is 1202 N. Travis, near Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center. Telephone 936.334.1185.

Health Center of Southeast Texas also has a new Acute Care Clinic at their Cleveland location from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. The location is 307 N. William Barnett Ave. Telephone 281.592.2224.
Please mark your calendars for April 27, 2019. Health Center of Southeast Texas in conjunction with the Cleveland Senior Center and Texas Emergency Hospital System is hosting a Spring Bazaar and Crawfish Boil to raise money for the Meals on Wheels program. 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. This year the program has had funding cut and we are asking the community to come together and help support this much needed program.

  • Liberty Street Rally (Cars, Coffee & More) on the square in Downtown Liberty. Meets on the 2nd Saturday of the month (weather permitting), 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. See classic cars, hot rods, motorcycles and more.
  • Third Thursday on Sam Houston Street. Participating shops in the 1800 block of Sam Houston (near the courthouse square) are open late every third Thursday of the month with great deals, food and live music.
  • Coffee with the Mayor. Held the third Thursday of each month (except for holidays or conflicting events). Citizens of Liberty are invited to have coffee with Mayor Carl Pickett and City Manager Tom Warner in the council chambers of City Hall. This is an opportunity to discuss ideas or projects or to voice any concerns citizens may wish to express. 936.336.3684.
