We want to hear from you!

As the business environment continues to change, The Chamber is being intentional about how we listen, learn, and respond to member needs. This assessment is designed to help us better understand the priorities, challenges, and opportunities facing our members and business community so we can focus our work where it matters most. Our goal is to be more business and member focused by supporting practical business needs and improving access to the information, connections, and resources that help organizations succeed.

Please take 10 minutes to complete the Chamber Member Needs Assessment.

Congratulations to the Tri-Cities Family YMCA on the completion of their $10 million Y for All Capital Improvement Project! The renovations and infrastructure improvements completed throughout the facility will ensure the Y continues as a hub of health and wellness for all ages for generations to come.

Community Conversations That Matter

The Chamber Forum Series

What happens when employees can’t get to work reliably?

Transportation is a make-or-break factor in workforce retention. This forum will bring together transit leaders, employers, and community voices to explore local mobility challenges, evolving systems, and strategies that could better connect our workforce to employment opportunities.

You will hear from representatives from Muskegon Area Transit Authority, Harbor Transit, Wheels to Work, and Ottawa County.

Our panel will share current initiatives, highlight gaps in the regional transit network, and open the floor for audience Q&A. Join the conversation and help shape a more connected future for our workforce.

Contact Heather here to discuss how you can continue to invest in the work of the Chamber.

Join us for a conversation on HR & Talent Development on Wednesday, November 18 from 8:45 AM - 11:00 AM. Register early here: Forum on HR & Talent Development

Member Spotlight: The Employer's Association (TEA)

Paid Member Advertising

 More Value Through Partnership

by Nick Kacher, Esq., SPHR, President, The Employers’ Association

One of our priorities at The Employers’ Association is simple: continually find ways to make TEA membership more valuable to your organization and your employees. Increasingly, that means looking beyond what we can provide on our own and building partnerships that give our members access to greater resources, better information and new opportunities.

For example, through our partnership with Davenport University, employees of TEA member organizations can access significant educational benefits. Eligible employees can receive scholarships of up to $8,000 per year, while eligible dependents can receive up to $6,500 per year toward their education at Davenport. Members also have access to a 20% discount on Davenport IPEX professional development and training programs.

At a time when employers continue to focus on attracting, retaining and developing great people, educational benefits can be much more than a tuition discount. They can provide employees with an opportunity to advance their careers, help families manage the cost of higher education and give employers another meaningful benefit to highlight when recruiting and retaining talent.

We are taking a similar approach with one of TEA’s longest-standing and most important services: compensation data.

This year, TEA has combined its Wage & Salary Survey with ASE, dramatically expanding the pool of participating Michigan employers while maintaining the valuable West Michigan perspective our members have relied upon for decades. Last year, TEA’s survey included 230 West Michigan organizations and compensation information covering approximately 340 jobs across 18 job families. Combining our survey efforts with ASE will nearly triple the number of participating companies, providing TEA members with broader and more valuable set of compensation data.

Better data leads to better decisions. Whether you are benchmarking a difficult-to-fill position, reviewing your overall compensation structure or preparing next year’s salary budget, having reliable and robust Michigan-specific information is increasingly important.

These partnerships represent the direction we want TEA to continue moving: preserving the personal service and local relationships our members value while finding new ways to expand the resources available to them.

More resources. Better data. Greater opportunities for your employees. That is what TEA membership delivers.
