Next Week: Educating for Today & Tomorrow’s Workforce
How well is education preparing students for the workforce, and how can schools and training programs keep pace with employers’ changing needs?
Join us on Wednesday, November 4, for a luncheon presented by our President Level Investors featuring Louisiana Superintendent of Education Dr. Cade Brumley, Southeastern Louisiana University President Dr. William Wainwright and Northshore Technical Community College Chancellor Dr. Jim Carlson. They’ll discuss how K–12 education, higher education and technical training can prepare students for career opportunities and help meet workforce needs across St. Tammany Parish and the Northshore.
Networking begins at 11:30 a.m., followed by the program from noon to 1 p.m. at LOPA in Covington. Register here.

I often say it’s time to look forward, not back!
If you didn’t early vote for sheriff, judges, school board and amendments, your last chance is Tuesday, November 3, election day for all the above.
November 3 is NOT election day for the new .25 cent sales tax that will literally save parish government and our criminal justice system. The sales tax election is not until December 12. In this brief message I am focusing on the election at hand while looking ahead to the next one.

There is TMI (too much information) on social media primarily too many opinions and not enough facts. One fact is clear: we have had very low voter turnout in elections that have led to this financial crisis. So, were the failed tax renewals since 2017 truly a vote of the people? IMO (in my opinion), 12% does not nearly represent “the people.” Let’s stop looking back. Get the facts, then GO VOTE.
Looking ahead,
