Join us to celebrate our changing Payson Downtown area for the first First-Friday event this Friday, 6/6, to kick off a monthly community celebration happening every first Friday through November.

Happening on Friday, June 6, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM, bring the family and kids under 12 your bikes, to learn safety, enjoy some treats and kids bike parade (under 12). This is the start of fun, entertainment, and a chance to connect with neighbors and local businesses.

The Utah Small Business Credit Initiative (USBCI) is a state-run program that helps small businesses access capital, funded by the 2021 American Rescue Plan Act to boost economic growth and job creation.

USBCI offers two main loan programs:

Loan Participation Program (LPP): For businesses with under 750 employees. Loans range from $10K to $20M, with USBCI able to buy up to 50%, lowering interest and increasing access.
Capital Access Program (CAP): For businesses under 500 employees. Offers $25K–$5M loans with lender loss protection to support those who may not qualify elsewhere.

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is investing over $1 million in Utah, a traditionally Republican stronghold, as part of a long-term effort to flip the state politically.Though Democrats are outnumbered nearly 4 to 1 by Republicans, DNC Chair Ken Martin believes Utah’s rapid growth and changing demographics could make it competitive in future elections.

As part of its new State Partnership Program, the DNC will contribute $22,500 monthly to Utah’s Democratic Party over the next four years.Martin also sees potential in strengthening ties with Latino voters, who make up around 15% of the state's population, and Latter-day Saint voters, who have shown only tepid support for Trump.Looking ahead to the post-2030 census redistricting, Martin anticipates Utah could gain additional congressional seats, offering Democrats a strategic opening.

The investment also aims to build a stronger grassroots infrastructure and boost year-round organizing across the state.
