Payson City proudly invites you to be part of "Payson’s Cinco de Mayo Celebration" on Monday, May 5th, 2025 from 5pm to 9pm!

This free community event celebrates culture, music, and tradition. The event will feature the incredible "Viva el Mariachi con Yunuen Carrillo" Mariachi Band, along with Folkloric dancers and other talented performers.

Food trucks, community information and hand crafts booths.

Come support our local businesses and enjoy this great Payson and Mexican tradition.

Fun begins at 5:00 PM at the Peteetneet Amphitheater.

Governor Cox Declares Drought Emergency in 17 Utah Counties:

On April 24, 2025, Governor Spencer J. Cox issued an executive order declaring a state of emergency in 17 Utah counties due to severe drought conditions. With low streamflow forecasts and rising temperatures increasing water demand, the declaration emphasizes the critical need for water conservation across the state. Residents are urged to adopt water-saving measures to help mitigate the impact of the drought. Additionally, the state is working closely with local agencies to ensure that emergency water supplies are available, particularly for agriculture and municipal use. Governor Cox has also called for heightened awareness and community action to preserve Utah's limited water resources. The situation remains urgent, and all Utahns are encouraged to do their part to conserve water.

Passport to Summer 2025: Encouraging Exploration and Local Engagement

Starting May 15, families can pick up a Passport Book from various locations, including city libraries, city offices, and participating businesses. Children (high school age and under) are encouraged to participate in fun and educational activities sponsored by local businesses. Upon completing an activity, participants visit the sponsoring business to get their passport stamped. Collecting stamps not only fosters community engagement but also qualifies families for a free pool party on August 9 at the Payson Pool, featuring treats and raffle prizes. The more stamps you get, the more raffle tickets! This initiative aims to keep children active and reduce screen time during the summer months.
