Breaking Glass this Thursday
Last call for our April Breaking Glass Leadership Series with Cynthia (CJ) Warner, President and CEO of Renewable Energy Group (REG). Join us at 8:30AM on Thursday, April 8 on the Third Floor of the Commerce Center. This session is sponsored by First Citizens Bank.

Just a couple of years ago, Cynthia Warner took over as REG's leader. Take a look at this video they put together upon her arrival to get to know to a little more about CJ before Thursday's session.

Tickets are $10 each for employees of Chamber member businesses and $20 for non-members. A virtual option is also available.
April 22 - Make it OK Training
The Worksite Wellness Committee is hosting a Mental Health Workshop from 10AM-Noon on Thursday, April 22. The “Make It OK” Ambassador Training will teach participants how to identify people facing mental health illnesses and provide participants with the tools to be an Ambassador and conduct their own “Make It OK” training session in their workplace or to community groups.

Healthiest State Initiative Executive Director Jami Haberl is conducting the training at the Commerce Center. The participation fee of $5 for Chamber members, $10 for non-members, covers the cost of instructional materials.
Friends of the Festival
The Band Festival committee is busy planning the 82nd North Iowa Band Festival, with some adjustments and some tentative scheduling. The festival theme reflects our challenging times: Banding Together and Marching Forward.

Since we were unable to conduct a fundraising campaign last year, we’re counting on the generous support of our community to keep this celebration a free event for all to enjoy.

Please consider supporting the Friends of the Festival campaign. Click on the button below to donate.

The North Iowa Band Festival Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization.
Government Affairs Update - Week 12
April 2 was the second funnel deadline for the legislature. Any bills that did not pass the originating chamber and through a committee in the opposite chamber are no longer eligible for debate or further consideration this session. Tax and spending bills are exempt from this deadline as are bills placed on the “unfinished business” calendar in either chamber.
