We have lots of great things going on at the Chamber.
Save the Date - Our Chamber Annual Dinner (Mardi Gras - Let's Celebrate the Good Times) will be on Tuesday, March 1st at Romweber Marketplace! Award Nominations Forms are available online or at the Chamber office. Forms need to be submitted by Friday, January 28th for the selection committee to review. Invitations will be going out the first week of February.
Google is making some changes soon. Join us on Tuesday, January 25th for a FREE Google Training with eXtend Marketing Partners. It will be at Izzy's at Hillcrest from 8 am to 9:30 am. Space is limited so register as soon as possible.
Our 2022 Coupon Books are available at the Chamber office. There are 123 valuable coupons for lots of savings. They are 1 for $10 or 2 for $15 so get them while supplies last.
Our 2022 Partnership and Corporate Sponsorship invoices will be going out over the next week. With your continued support, we can bring more programs and benefits to our partners in 2022. As inpatient volumes continue to climb, MMH encourages you to help slow the spread of COVID-19 over the holidays. Interim CEO, Liz Leising and ER Doctor, Frank Fiorito share insights on what MMH is currently experiencing and how to manage COVID-19 symptoms and limit your risk of exposure. |

MMH Community Update:
Over the past 5 months, more than 250 patients have been admitted to the hospital for COVID-19. The vast majority (85%) were not vaccinated. While vaccination against COVID-19 cannot guarantee an individual will not contract the virus, it significantly decreases their risk for infection, hospitalization, and death. If you are eligible to receive your vaccine booster shot, please consider doing so. This is important as emerging evidence shows vaccine effectiveness against COVID-19 infections can decrease over time due to the combination of decreasing protection as time passes since getting vaccinated as well as the greater infectiousness of the new variants.
Inpatient Care - We currently have 27 patients on our Med/Surg floor, with 3 of those patients in our Special Care Unit. Fifteen of our patients are COVID+.
ER - Our ER volumes are still very high, resulting in much longer wait times than normal. We understand this can be frustrating, but please know our teams are working hard and as quickly as possible. We recommend for asymptomatic patients or those with mild illness refrain from using the ER for COVID-19 testing. Testing in the ER is being limited to those patients most likely being admitted to the hospital.
Testing - Unfortunately, the number of patients testing positive for COVID-19 has increased this week, with 33.5% of patients (115 in total) testing positive. Those who need to be tested should contact their primary care provider for an outpatient test to be completed through our lab or schedule an appointment at a local testing site through coronavirus.in.gov.
Vaccination - Vaccine appointments for everyone ages 5 and older can be scheduled Monday-Friday at the MMH Occupational Health & Wellness Center in Batesville at 812.932.5105 and at the Margaret Mary Health Center in Brookville at 765.647.5126. Walk-ins are also welcome in Brookville.

Your family of pharmacies has received a limited supply of the COVID-19 vaccine in select areas and our licensed health care professionals are partnering with federal and state agencies to administer the doses in accordance with each jurisdiction’s rollout plans.
