US Chamber Launches Grants for Small Business

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation has launched the Save Small Business Grant Fund. Funded by contributions from corporate and philanthropic partners, the program provides $5,000 supplemental grants to small employers in economically vulnerable communities. Learn more.

Other funding options from Small Business Administration by the CARES Act.

Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL)
Provides up to $10,000 of economic relief to businesses that are currently experiencing temporary difficulties. Learn more

SBA Express Bridge Loans
Enables small businesses who currently have a business relationship with an SBA Express Lender to access up to $25,000 quickly. Learn more

SBA Debt Relief
The SBA is providing a financial reprieve to small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Learn more

Paycheck Protection Program (PPP)
The program is temporarily out of money as Congress is locked in a stalemate. Learn more
Edwards Says Reopening State’s Economy Will Come in Phases

As Louisiana officials decide when and where to begin lifting business restrictions put in place to slow the spread of the new coronavirus, the state’s health care sector is likely to be among the first in line, Gov. John Bel Edwards said Tuesday.

Certain parts of the state with fewer cases of COVID-19 also could see more activity sooner than areas that remain hotspots, he said. As elected officials and outside groups urge action to get the economy moving again, Edwards stressed that decisions will be made carefully with guidance from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
