Registration is full for the Barrington Area Legislative Breakfast tomorrow, Oct. 11 at Barrington's White House. Speakers will offer first-hand updates on issues affecting our communities. Registration, networking, coffee and pastries at 8:30 am; Program will begin at 9:00 am.
Ribbon Cutting Cancelled This Week at Kerri Pilates - New Date is Oct. 26

Buy Tickets in Advance for TasteFest on Oct. 19

Tickets are selling fast for the Barrington Area TasteFest on Wednesday, Oct. 19, from 5:00-8:00 pm at Wild Onion Brewery in Lake Barrington. Cost is $40 in advance/$45 at the door (limited).

Enjoy complimentary sampling from more than 20 area restaurants, microbrewers, wineries and distillers. The evening also includes entertainer Jimmy Nick, and a chance to grab some fast-moving cash in the Barrington Bank & Trust Co. money machine.

The first 300 attendees will receive a collectible TasteFest glass at the door. Guests are invited to cast their votes for the Best Taste Awards.

Business Grants Available in Cook County

Businesses in Cook County can now apply for two grants:
The Cook County Small Business Source Grow Grant provides $10,000 grants to small businesses, coupled with advising and coaching services, to foster their recovery and resiliency from the pandemic, scale their operations and thrive. For details CLICK HERE.

Cook County Manufacturing Reinvented is a $5 million grant program created to support local suburban manufacturers in implementing projects to improve their business’s competitiveness and resiliency in the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic environment. For details CLICK HERE.
Free Virtual Cybersecurity Summit for Small Businesses on Oct. 26

The U.S. Small Business Administration will host its first National Cyber Summit on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 1:00 pm to offer small businesses information about protecting against cyber threats. IL Dept. of Commerce Offers Small Business Assistance Programs

​The Illinois Dept. of Commerce Small Business Development Centers provide information, confidential business guidance, training, and other resources for start-ups and existing small businesses. Services include: One-on-one business advice and management assistance; Help with the development of business plans, accessing market information and business financing programs, assistance with financial analysis and planning, and more. Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital Offers Vaccinations and Booster Shots

COVID-19 vaccine appointments for anyone five years and older are now being accepted at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, 450 W. Hwy. 22 in Barrington. Anyone 6 months old and up can get vaccinated. Booster shots are also available to anyone 5 years and older who received both doses of the Pfizer, Moderna vaccine five months ago, or the Johnson & Johnson vaccine two months ago. A second booster shot is available for people 50 and older and immunocompromised people 12 and older four months after their first booster shot. Those seeking appointments do not need to be patients of the hospital.
