Big Plans for 2021 Despite Calendar Adjustments
Here's hoping that the new year -- 2021 -- returns to somewhat of a more normal schedule for the many events and opportunities of interest to the Pauls Valley Chamber.

The year's calendar currently features some events that were canceled when the pandemic started last year. The City of Pauls Valley has set the dates for the 21st edition of the Okie Noodling Tournament on June 18 & 19. The Chamber will once again be in charge of recruiting vendors for the event and applications are already being accepted [see website].

Believing the Coronavirus may still require special arrangements in the first part of the year, the Board has decided to switch the dates for the Chamber Banquet and the Golf Fundraiser. The banquet, usually held in April, will be in September, while the 2nd annual golf event will be in April this year.

Other changes:
  • Legislative Breakfast (typically in Feb.) -- canceled
  • Field's Pie Day at the State Capitol -- canceled
  • 5th Friday Art Walk -- debuts April 30

Search Is On for Database Management Options

A plan to improve the way information and data are used has become one of the first things being considered by new Chamber President Nancy Runge. She is exploring some options that would bring advanced technology and improved data management to the Chamber records. Currently, she is considering two or three online service providers and will discuss her findings with the Executive Board in coming days. A switch to a comprehensive data management system would improve record-keeping, the integration with invoicing and accounting work and various other ongoing tasks such as processing sponsorships and event vendor applications.
