6 Tips for Success
this Christmas Season
Here's some good advice from SCORE, the business mentor partner with the Small Business Administration:

Order supplies – Obviously, you need plenty of your basic product, but also ensure you have the needed shipping supplies, wrapping paper, etc.

Make holiday schedules – Will you be open more or different hours? Will you have your employees signed on?

Stock extra inventory – Anticipate what could sell well and stock up accordingly. Make sure you know your suppliers’ capabilities too.

Check your website – Add some special touches to display your Christmas spirit. Give a few gift ideas and if you use e-commerce tools, make sure your online system works well.

Decorate – Add some holiday pizzazz to stand from the crowd. Play festive music.

Plan a new marketing campaign – Since many businesses achieve big goals during the holidays, it’s a good time to evaluate what you’re doing right and what might need refinement for the new year.

Community Pride in Full Display for Pockets of Progress

The Chamber partnered with the City of Pauls Valley and the Pauls Valley Ministerial Alliance to host Pockets of Progress to clean up Pauls Valley on Oct. 26. The results were great!
  • 188 volunteers
  • 161 bags of trash
  • 44 trailer loads of brush, trees, and trash
  • 752 estimated total volunteer hours
Several groups were formed and it was inspiring to see them get to work together. Groups were formed from local church congregations, Cub Scouts, school organizations and businesses.

Despite the cloudy, cool weather as they gathered that Saturday morning, by the time the assignments were given, the sun started to peak out and warm up the volunteers.

Organizers said the effort to clean up our city was a big success. Another work day is set for May 2, 2020.
