Come out to the Pauls Valley Municipal Golf Course on Saturday, May 21, for the annual Chamber Golf Tournament. There’s still time to sign up (deadline is May 13) to play or to become a sponsor.

Besides playing some good golf in a 4-person scramble style, participants will enjoy the camaraderie with other business and community representatives. The day includes a silent auction, various golf contests, door prizes and lunch.

Catch the holiday spirit early and help bring an extra-special Christmas to Pauls Valley. The first meeting of the Planning Committee is Wednesday, May 11, at noon (bring your own brown bag lunch, if desired).

Plans are to have a holiday arts and crafts area in conjunction with an art market with The Vault, a life-sized snow globe, a reindeer petting zoo, hot chocolate and much more. Favorite traditions like the Christmas Parade, the Storytime with Santa and storefront decorations are also planned. The date is Saturday, Dec. 3.

"The Pauls Valley Tourism Board has already shown their support with a key donation. And now we need to get to work," says President Nancy Runge.

Upton & Agee Win Awards for Their Service to Pauls Valley
Family members surprise Connie Upton as she's named the Citizen of the Year.
At the recent annual Chamber Banquet, the Chamber of Commerce recognized two individuals for their untiring efforts for the sake of Pauls Valley by bestowing the Citizen of the Year and Corporate Citizen of the Year awards this year.

Connie Upton received the Citizen of the Year award, a surprise that included the appearance of her family who was waiting in the wings. Connie of Healthback Home Health has served as chair of the Chamber Board for two years and that included leadership during the difficult years of the Covid pandemic. She was also cited for her work for beautification of the city and her work with the Samaritans Food Pantry.

The Vault Art Space & Gathering Place won the business of the year prize. Susie Agee accepted the award and her family was also on hand to congratulate her. The Vault gallery has become a beloved location for ongoing art events in downtown Pauls Valley.
Youthful Energy Describes New Board Chair
We welcome our new Chamber Board chair -- Grace Farnan of First United Bank – to lead in the upcoming fiscal year starting in July.

“We’re excited to start the new year with Grace at the helm,” says Nancy Runge, Chamber President. “She is skilled in several areas and brings a lot of energy and ideas to the Chamber."

Farnan first served on the Board in 2019, but then took a break due to a change in her work responsibilities. She returned to serve for the 2021-22 year.

At First United, Farnan is the Financial Center Manager and Assistant Vice President. She leads the Pauls Valley, Pauls Valley Meridian, and Maysville locations’ retail department.

She is a 2012 PVHS graduate, and holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and master’s in business administration from Western Governors University. In 2020, Farnan was named to the Oklahoma Next Gen Under 30 list in the finance category. The annual award goes to innovative, creative and inspiring Oklahomans who prove to be achievers in key areas such as business, industry, education, finance, law, health care, real estate, nonprofits, retail, energy and transportation and the arts. 

Farnan takes the gavel from outgoing chair Connie Upton starting with the July 19 Board meeting.
