Please Welcome Our Newest Member, Astrolore!

Following many years of self-study, Laurie Farrington began her formal practice of astrology in 1994. In the years since she has had the honor of working with thousands of folks using the tools and gifts of astrology. Supporting her clients, mentoring students, and writing mundane astrology forecasts has been the continued focus of her work/ life.

Laurie’s goal is to assist her clients in expanding their understanding of themselves, to empower them to explore, improve and transform their lives through new perspectives. The wisdom of astrology, in the hands of a skilled guide/coach, will assist you in living your life with balance, awareness, and compassion to yourself and others.

In recent years Laurie’s focus is turning toward teaching the language to others who will carry on her work. Don’t pass up the opportunity to work with this Master Astrologer.

Please Welcome Our Newest Member, Finding Our Voices!

Finding Our Voices is a grassroots, survivor-powered nonprofit boldly and creatively breaking the silence of domestic abuse across Maine. They provide sister support that includes financial assistance to empower women to get and stay safe, and keep their children safe as well.

Domestic abuse is complicated & it’s everywhere. Our neighbors, friends, family members are being terrorized in what should be the safest place of home, with courts and rights flowing to perpetrators, and scant resources available to victims. Finding Our Voices wipes away the stigma that comes from misplaced shame, provides sister support to Maine victims, and paves the way for systemic change toward safer happier lives for all.

The Hawthorne Hike is Here!

We all thought that the only elephants in Belfast were located at the Colonial Theatre, but we were wrong! In late 2020, Scott Smith of the Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce discovered something very unique in the streets of our downtown - an elephant hiding in plain sight!

He walked the streets thoroughly to find the best path and along with Hartdale Maps, has created a new walking trail within our downtown! With respect to the large beloved elephant that already sits atop our city, the trail has been named the 'Hawthorne Hike.'

This new trail twists and turns through our downtown, our waterfront, our historic district, and brings a new and exciting activity for locals, visitors, and families to enjoy for years to come. Shops, architecture, history, homes and gardens, ocean and wildlife can all be seen! Full hike and Kids hike available.

Visit the Information Center for your own Hawthorne Hike Trail Map & Guide, follow the new Hawthorne Hike Facebook page, and share #hawthornehike online! You can also click here to download your own map!
