The Salem Area Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committees Yard of the Month Award goes to John Paul Tolson, proud owner and caretaker of multiple patches of bee and butterfly pollinating flowers at 1457 Brookview Drive! Starting at the front porch of morning glory vines, the front lawn is proud host to zahara zinnias (that bloom all summer long), cosmos, state fair zinnias, dreams midnight- petunias (a deep concord grape purple), geraniums, milkweed (host plant to monarch butterflies), native yellow primroses, lavender bergamot, and the fiery scarlet cardinal flower. Mr. Tolson maintains the floral arrangements of vivid colors himself for all passersby in the neighborhood and of course, for the bees. Congratulations! |
