In the United States, men make-up more than two-thirds of the homeless population, but are twice as likely to be unsheltered. The Haven of Manitowoc County aims to reduce that statistic by not only sheltering homeless men in our community, but also giving them the resources they need to achieve self-sufficiency. Anyone can make sure someone has a roof over their head for one night. It is the overall program, rather than just the bed, that makes for successful outcomes.
The Haven combines case management, resource referrals, a Life Skills Group and an inter-faith approach to help men experiencing homelessness find reliable employment, adequate housing, and ultimately build up a savings account.
On November 29th, people all over the world will come together and harness the power of human connection to change our world. Will you join us?
The Haven of Manitowoc County, Inc will be participating in GivingTuesday 2022, and we need YOUR help! On an annual basis The Haven serves over 80 men a year. These men find themselves in destitute situations that are most of the time out of their control. The Haven is a program that will help those men build a foundation back to self-sufficiency!
