McGuin's Clean Cut Lawn joins Chamber

McGuin's Clean Cut Lawn Maintenance, 359 S. Meridian Road, recently joined the Huntington County Chamber of Commerce as its newest member. McGuin's Clean Cut Lawn Maintenance was founded in 1994 by Tim McGuin. McGuin's have over 50 years of experience in the field of lawn mowing, maintenance and more. McGuin's currently has eight trucks and thirteen mowers to serve their clients.


McGuin's specializes in all types of lawn care to include mowing, fertilization, weed control, landscaping and more. McGuin's also offers tree trimming and removal, along with stump grinding. During the winter months McGuin's offers snow removal and cleanup. McGuin's services both residential and commercial properties. McGuin's is fully insured and licensed to provide clients with professional lawn care maintenance.


McGuin's also offers Christmas lights installation. If you would like to have your home or business decorated for the Christmas holidays, give McGuin's a call and they can take care of hanging those lights that you no longer feel comfortable doing.

Dicky's Car Wash opens today in Huntington

Dicky's Express Car Wash, 2600 Walmart Drive, opened for business today, Friday, December 8. Dicky's will then hold their official Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting next Thursday, December 14.


According to Dicky's website, they provide the best car wash with exceptional customer service in the communities they serve. Dicky’s supports their communities by sponsoring local events and donating proceeds to areas of need. Dicky’s is committed to helping communities become better places to live, work and play. Christmas at The Fairgrounds tomorrow

A Christmas Market will be held at the Huntington County Fairgrounds on Saturday, December 9 from 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The market is free for anyone wanting to shop at the market with thirty vendors participating.

Forester Festival of Trees through December 11

Enjoy the splendor of the season visiting Huntington University's Merillat Centre for the Arts, the site of 20 decorated Christmas trees. Huntington University Women’s Volleyball team will host its 2nd Annual Forester Festival of Trees.


The event runs from November 27 to December 11. The event is free and open to the public, and trees can be viewed between the hours of 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Vote for your favorites.

HU Cheer Team to host market this Sunday

The Huntington University Cheer Team will host their first Christmas Night Market on the Huntington University campus. This will be a Craft Show and Vendor Market that will take place on December 10 from 4 to 8 p.m.


There will be over 35 vendors as part of the market. The event will be held in the Fieldhouse at Huntington University, the HU Cheer Team will have concessions available for purchase and it is a free event. Come and shop for unique and creative holiday gifts, especially for those who need last-minute holiday gifts.

Community Loan Center expands service area

The Community Loan Center of Northeast Indiana, operated by Brightpoint Development Fund, was recently approved to expand its service area from 17 to 27 counties.


A Community Loan Center (CLC) offers affordable, small dollar loans as a benefit to employees whose employers are enrolled in the program. Indiana has four CLCs which serve residents across the state.

Matheny Hahn & Denman moving in January

Matheny Hahn & Denman LLP (MHD), 220 N. Jefferson Street, will move their offices after the first of the year to a new location downtown. MHD will be moving to 53 W. Market Street at the former Northrop Law office. The move is planned for January.

Ivy Tech plans $60M in capital projects

The Ivy Tech Community College board of trustees on Thursday approved a $60 million capital improvement project on its Fort Wayne campus. The project includes a new nursing and health sciences facility, as well as renovations to college’s Coliseum Campus.


The board voted to issue bonds up to $60 million to finance the project, which Ivy Tech president Sue Ellspermann said has been a capital priority for the college board chair Andrew Wilson said is being made possible because of Ivy Tech’s strong financial position.

Master Gardener Basic Training set for 2024

Purdue Extension Master Gardener Basic Training for Huntington, Wabash and Miami Counties in 2024 will be on Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. from March 7 through May 30. The location of the sessions will alternate between counties.


There will be a wide range of subjects covered in the training including soil and plant science, diagnosis of plant problems, pesticide safety, culture of vegetable, flower, landscape and fruit plants. The deadline for submitting applications is February 7.

Community Choirs in concert December 10

The Community Choirs of Huntington County will be presenting "Winter Memories" on December 10 at 4 p.m. The concert will be held in the gymnasium of Central Christian Church, 500 MacGahan Street.


The choirs performing include the Children's Choir, Treble Choir, Copper Sound and Joyful Songsters with a special appearance by the College Park Wind Ensemble.


The Community Choirs of Huntington County is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

Cookie baking, Purdue Extension December 20

Purdue Extension Huntington County is hosting a cookie baking event on December 20 at 5 p.m. at United with Love, 715 Byron Street. All ages are invited to join. Pre-registration is required.

Open mic night announced for January 19

The Huntington Theatre Guild Act II is thrilled to announce its upcoming open mic night at The Hive Event Center on Friday, January 19. The Hive Center is located at 509 E. State Street in Huntington.


This event is open to performers of all ages, eight and up, and acts must be appropriate for families. Whether you're a singer, dancer, comedian, or spoken word artist, this is your chance to showcase your talents! Please note that bands will not be permitted to perform at this event.

2024 Taste of Warren tickets on sale in January

The 2024 Taste of Warren is going to be another amazing event filled with great food, drinks, entertaining music, a memorable raffle and more.
