2021 Western & Central Wisconsin Wage Survey

The Chamber’s Western & Central Wisconsin Wage Survey is now in its 22nd year. The survey will be distributed on March 15, 2021. The deadline for employers to participate is May 3, and the results will be published in July. This regional survey has been conducted annually since 2000 and has expanded over the years to be co-sponsored by the Chambers of Commerce in Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire, La Crosse, Marshfield, Menomonie, Portage County, Rice Lake, Wausau, & Wisconsin Rapids. Additional organizations involved are the Chippewa Valley, La Crosse, Wausau, & Winona Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Chapters.
Past participants and members of all Chambers of Commerce and SHRM Chapters will receive an email invitation on March 15th with instructions on completing the survey. We encourage area employers to contribute their data to keep the survey viable and relevant – over 100 employers participated in 2020. Danielle Kummer - survey project manager with the Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce - receives and coordinates data entry while keeping ALL data strictly confidential. Deb Marshall, at accounting and consulting firm, Wipfli LLP, volunteers her technical expertise for survey development, oversight, data analysis and reporting.
It is easy to participate for both small and large employers as the survey is in an Excel spreadsheet developed specifically for this purpose. Businesses do NOT have to be a Chamber member to participate. Directions to access the Survey:
Visit the Chamber’s Survey website at
There is a minimal cost to receive the report when it is available in July. Although it is not necessary to be a member, participating Chamber members and members of local SHRM groups qualify for discounted pricing. All participants in the 2021 Wage Survey will be eligible to join us on July 28th for a presentation from Deb Marshall, of Wipfli, explaining the data results. More information on this event will be available as the date approaches.
The survey covers about 150 common jobs in the area, with breakouts in manufacturing, healthcare, financial institutions, government, and general business.
