The Chamber’s Trustees met for an after-hours reception at the Cox Science Center and Aquarium on Wednesday, April 20. Chamber Chair Bill Bone welcomed the group and introduced the Center’s president and CEO Kate Arrizza. Attendees were encouraged to view the exhibits, which currently include the highly rated “Journey through the Human Brain” and “Earth Matters.” Arrizza also spoke about the Science Center’s history and plans for a major expansion.

The Women in Business Committee met on Thursday, April 14, at Palm Beach Dramaworks for a backstage tour of their production of Intimate Apparel. Before kicking off the tour, Sue Ellen Beryl, the managing director shared how she and her husband founded Palm Beach Dramaworks. The group toured the theater's dressing rooms, learning about how the costumes were made before seeing the backstage lighting setup. Sue Ellen shared how they find their actors, as well as their support staff such as ushers. For upcoming productions, visit their website.

The BrandX Women For Women 5K road race will take place on Saturday, May 7 at 7:00 a.m. Join us at Okeeheelee Park where hundreds of female runners will line up to compete, celebrate and encourage each other in this unique sporting event, appropriately scheduled for Mother’s Day weekend. This year’s theme is aligned with good luck and celebrating our Florida state flower, the orange blossom!

The Chamber is pleased to join other business organizations in Palm Beach County in hosting the 2022 Campaign School & Community Leadership Training program presented by the Florida Institute for Political Leadership. This 3-part virtual school is being offered at no cost and is ideal for anyone interested in running for public office, working on a political campaign, or serving on a public board or commission. Sue Ellen Beryl, Palm Beach Dramaworks

Sue Ellen Beryl is the managing director of Palm Beach Dramaworks, a professional theater company she co-founded with her husband in September 2000. A graduate of Pace University, she began her career in theatrical management as managing director of the Schimmel Center for the Arts, and box office manager and publicity director for Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival. In addition, her business experience includes 10 years in the New York advertising industry and several years managing a family-owned business on the New York Commodity Exchange. Sue Ellen is proud of her service to the community as a former board member of the Palm Beach County Cultural Council, serving two years as chairman of their Cultural Executives Committee. She also served three years on the Allocations Committee for the Town of Palm Beach United Way and is a National Ambassador for the Actors’ Fund. Sue Ellen currently serves as a Trustee of the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches.
