Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for the annual Gatekeeper Awards

The Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for its 2024 Ned & Goldie Paine Memorial Gatekeeper Awards.

Nominations must be received in the chamber office by Friday, January 10, 2025, at 4:00 p.m.

Since 1966, the Gatekeeper awards have honored outstanding service to the Trussville community. Award nominations for individuals and groups are accepted. Click the link below for the nomination form

Books for Children’s Hospital

For over 10 years the Eastern Women’s Committee of Fifty (EWCF) has been donating books to the Children’s Hospital Sugar Plum Shop.  This year is no exception. Books are given to patients and their families through the Sugar Plum Shop and other needed areas of the hospital.

In October EWCF member, Lisa Dole, was shopping in Bookmarked Paperie and Accessories. Lisa and co-owner, Beth Seeley, began a conversation about book donations and how her customers bring books to donate. Lisa shared with Beth the annual donation made by EWCF to Children’s Hospital and a partnership was formed. Beth sent an email to her customers asking for book donations for children.

 Together EWCF and Bookmarked Paperie and Accessories donated close to 300 books. Their goal for next Christmas is 500 books.
