June 2020 Chamber of Commerce Newsletter
Barron County Pathway to Recovery
The Barron County Path to Economic Recovery was created from recommendations from a diverse group of organizations including Wisconsin Economic Development Association (WEDA), banking industry representatives, Small Business Association (SBA) lenders; Community Development Financial Institutions; West Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission; USDA; Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce; Utilities; and our local Chambers and economic development organizations.

The recommendations offer a path with potential solutions to help small businesses restructure and reopen or expand operations. We plan to follow the plan described below but will be adjusting as needed. In essence we will follow the following guidelines. 1. Assess, Plan and Launch. 2. Measure, Adjust, Communicate, repeat.

Music in the Park Concerts Update

The Music in the Park Committee has been meeting every couple of weeks and discussed the pandemic situation and are watching and assessing the situation and their options.
At this time, the concerts have been delayed. We are following the City for the approval of using the Band Shell. At this time they are NOT reserving the Band Shell or Pavilions, discouraging the gathering of larger groups.

If the Band Shell becomes available, we will be looking at the summer and what we can and cannot do for the safety of the bands as well as our audience.

Sundown at the Shell Update

Sundown at the Shell will continue to host concerts this summer, but things will look a bit different-namely, concerts will be held virtually on Facebook.

Sundown at the Shell organizers, Ryan, Clifton, Claire, Carl, Kianna and Karen wish that concerts could be held live at the band shell, but due to COVID-19, the city is not allowing events at the band shell. With large gatherings discouraged, Sundown at the Shell felt it best to switch to online concerts until we can safely gather again.

The idea behind Sundown at the Shell has always been about building community, but communities can be built wherever you are. So Sundown is excited about trying something new with virtual concerts and bringing people together online, while being physically socially distanced.

More details will be forthcoming about concerts. Stay tuned!
Salute Golf Outing - Save the Date!
The committee is watching and assessing as we move through the pandemic issues of “safer at home” to opening our area and businesses. Decisions will be made as late as possible.

We are continuing our sponsorships (rest assured that if we have to cancel any paid sponsorships will be refunded). So for now, IF you planned to sponsor a hole etc. please let us know so we can reserve it for you!

Turtleback has sent out information, and we will begin taking registrations of teams. Costs will remain the same as last year.
$99—golf/per person, includes lunch, dinner, and cart
$25-evening buffet/per person
$10-lunch only (for those not golfing)

Please email your registrations to chamber@rice-lake.com. We will confirm we have received them and further information will come in June-July.
