We have launched a NEW eGift card program called Murray Money!!!
Murray Money (our Community eGift Card program) is a simple way for people and companies to “give back” and drive more business into our local stores. Murray Money is a digital giftcard that can be used at any participating Chamber member merchant: restaurants, boutiques, salons and spas, sports and entertainment, hotels, etc. Murray Money is a quick and easy way to keep dollars local, strengthening our local businesses and building our community. There is NO COST to participate for Chamber members! To sign up or for more information, contact Hailey Anderson at [email protected].
Please note: Murray Money is NOT replacing our Chamber Check program. The intent of this eGift Card program is to make it easier for out-of-town individuals to support our local businesses (i.e. MSU parents sending their student an eGift Card to eat at a local restaurant) and for individuals needing a quick way to send a gift.

The affordability of health insurance consistently ranks as one of the top worry-items for business owners. With health care costs hitting small employers particularly hard, you may find it hard to offer health benefits to your employees. We are proud to have the ability to provide great options for healthcare coverage and workers' compensation.
To learn more, contact your local insurance agent or a Chamber staff member for more information.

OTHER NEWS
LEGISLATION UPDATE:
The General Assembly is currently in veto recess until March 29 and 30, when they will return to override any gubernatorial vetoes and take final action on remaining bills before adjourning for the year. Even though this was a short session, it was action-packed. Here are just a few of the bills we've seen pass thus far:
- House Bill 278 – allows businesses to deduct expenses paid with forgiven PPP loans from their total tax burden. This was signed by Governor Beshear earlier this week and it's estimated it could save employers upwards of $75 million over the next two to three years.
- Senate Bill 67 – allows for permanent to-go cocktails to support the hospitality industry. This measure has been signed by the Governor.
- House Bill 497 – supports successful reentry from incarceration by creating a new certificate of employ-ability program as well as workforce training. These programs will encourage employment and workforce participation. This bill needs only a procedural vote in the House before heading to the Governor’s desk.
- House Bill 413 – provides relief for employers facing increases to unemployment insurance taxes. This measure has been sent to the Governor.
- House Bill 126 – will reduce incarceration in Kentucky by lowering the felony theft threshold. It has been sent to the Governor’s office for signing.
- House Bill 563 – establishes Education Opportunity Accounts which will give Kentucky students and families access to educational choice. The bill has been sent to the Governor.
- House Bill 405 – increases funding for childcare throughout Kentucky, which has been a significant workforce issue. The legislation has been passed by both Chambers and is heading to the Governor.
