Dear members,

Good morning! The CDC along with federal and state officials have announced fully vaccinated individuals are no longer required to wear a mask in most indoor and outdoor settings or practice social distancing as of last week. This is great news as we move forward from the pandemic.

Masks are still required when using public transportation, in schools, hospitals, long-term care facilities, correctional facilities and homeless shelters. Individuals will still need to follow guidance at your workplace and local businesses.

Gov. Andy Beshear announced capacity restrictions related to COVID-19 will end Friday, June 11 including unvaccinated individuals will no longer have to wear a mask.
SMALL BUSINESS MONTH

Are you hiring? Post your jobs on our website at
www.MyMurray.com. Our Director of Membership Development, Hailey Anderson, walks you through how to post one here. Many businesses and organizations are dealing with limited staff. Please realize businesses can't operate at 100% without a full team. This is a friendly reminder to be gracious and patient, especially at restaurants. They need your support! #EatLocal

Are You Tired of Zoom?

We are too, BUT hang in there! Let's come together virtually (hopefully for the last time) for our Small Business Seminars, presented by FNB Bank, that kickoff this week! Our first event is on Tuesday, May 18th at 9am via Zoom as we talk about Marketing with Socially Present President, Amy Clevidence and FNB VP & Marketing Director, Brooke Wiles.

On May 19th, we will hear from a panel on bettering your customer service, "Service with a Smile." Panelists include Jim Foster, Owner of Culvers Murray, Dr. Reed Jarvis, Owner Jarvis Vision Center, Trice Sergeant, VP & Retail Banking Manager at FNB Bank, Inc. and Whitney Cooper, Owner Flowers by Whitney. Two more events follow the last week of May.

On Tuesday, May 25th we will be talking all things Human Resources from two HR professionals. They want to know what questions you have for them to address. Submit them when you register or take this quick survey to help them better prepare to meet your needs. Managing people, difficult work conversations, onboarding...Don't miss "Hiring, Firing & Everything In Between."

Lastly, we will hear from a panel of local business leaders on Available Resources for your business through a local lender, Small Business Development Center/SBA, Murray State University and other groups. This will take place on Friday, May 28th.

You can sign up for all four, or catch the recordings later. But, we really don't want you to miss them via zoom for the great discussion - submit your great questions in advance, or come prepared to ask during the sessions!

RIBBON CUTTING
We had a fantastic time celebrating the grand opening of our member, Burkes Outlet! At 8:50am on a Thursday, there was a line of at least 20 people waiting to get in to shop at this new store. Stop by 652 N 12th Street and help us give their team a warm welcome!
IS YOUR BUSINESS LISTED YET TO ACCEPT MURRAY MONEY?

Murray Money (our Community eGift Card program) is a simple way for people and companies to “give back” and drive more business into our local stores. Murray Money is a digital giftcard that can be used at any participating Chamber member merchant: restaurants, boutiques, salons and spas, sports and entertainment, hotels, etc. Murray Money is a quick and easy way to keep dollars local, strengthening our local businesses and building our community. There is NO COST to participate for Chamber members! To sign up or for more information, contact Hailey Anderson at [email protected].

Please note: Murray Money is NOT replacing our Chamber Check program. The intent of this eGift Card program is to make it easier for out-of-town individuals to support our local businesses (i.e. MSU parents sending their student an eGift Card to eat at a local restaurant) and for individuals needing a quick way to send a gift.
The affordability of health insurance consistently ranks as one of the top worry-items for business owners. With health care costs hitting small employers particularly hard, you may find it hard to offer health benefits to your employees. We are proud to have the ability to provide great options for healthcare coverage and workers' compensation.

To learn more, contact your local insurance agent or a Chamber staff member for more information.
