This week, we introduce details on our Asian Pacific Heritage Month celebration. Read below to find out more about the month's events. We are stillaccepting art for the Art Walk until March 28. Read below for more information on how to submit art for this project.

 

Our March Member Mixer is this coming Tuesday, March 11, at Crew Bar + Grill. Stop by for free entertainment from Irish musicians, good beer, and some early St. Patrick's Day fun! Click the link below to register for this event.

 

There are still spots left in SMB Help Desk's Hands on Workshops next month! These events give you a free, hands-on introduction to Windows 8.1, Office 365 and the Office 2013. It also gives you an up close look at the fast and fluid experience of Windows 8 and the new Office across a variety of devices, including tablets, PCs, and smartphones. There are only 10 spots available for each date, so register early! Click here for more information. Click on the date you would like to attend for a link to sign up. The workshops are held on April 12, and 3 from 11:30am-1pm at The SMB Help Desk, 4147 N Ravenswood.

 

Finally, as the weather warms up, the community will have an increased focus on creating and maintaining a safe neighborhood. As a business owner, you can get involved in these efforts by attending your beat's CAPS meeting once a month. You can find more information below on each CAPS meeting's time and location. At this luncheon, we will feature speakers with information on resources to grow your business. Topics will include understanding TIF, Zoning and Licensing, SSA Facade and Security Camera Rebate opportunities, access to employment services, SBIF information, and available tax benefits for hiring special needs employees. Asian Pacific Heritage Month
Whether you are living and working in our community, or are jut in Uptown for a visit, you have a unique opportunity to experience and learn about the diverse cultures that make up our neighborhood. Throughout the month of May, we are working with Uptown United and other community partners to coordinate programs, workshops, performances and artistic displays that will highlight the rich and vibrant traditions of our Asian Pacific American community members.

APHM Art Walk
Storefronts on Broadway from Wilson Ave to Argyle St
A community-wide art walk highlighting the talents and vision of Chicago's Asian-Pacific artists. Businesses from Wilson Avenue to Argyle Street will display traditional, folk and modern art that captures the Asian-Pacific American experience and adds a vibrant cultural element to our community.  Kick-off Event

This event will feature cultural performances including music, dance, drumming and other performing arts. Stop by to mix and mingle with Chicagoans from Uptown and all around the city!

Bring the family for an interactive day of games, story-telling and hands-on arts and crafts highlighting Asian-Pacific traditions.

Deal of the Day Continues
Alderman Harry Osterman invites you to join neighbors in supporting locally owned businesses with a new deal every day throughout March! Local businesses are an integral part of our community, and this winter's weather has hit our businesses hard. Panhandling Seminar

The Playboy of the Western World

Join C4 on March 27th for a special night at the theatre, with an exclusive showing of "The Playboy of the Western World" at the Raven Theatre (6157 N. Clark Street).
