Town: Caltrans Begins SR-17 Bridge (Main Street Overcrossing) Safety Upgrades
Caltrans has initiated a long-term construction project on State Route 17 at the Main Street Overcrossing and Santa Cruz Undercrossing in Los Gatos. The project, which began April 15 and is scheduled through December 31, 2025, includes overnight lane closures Monday through Friday from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM. Intermittent daytime closures are also anticipated. The purpose of the project is to upgrade sidewalks and bridge rails to meet current safety standards. Parking on the Main Street bridge will be limited during construction. To read more about the project, click here.
State: CalChamber Announces 2025 Affordability Agenda
CalChamber unveiled its 2025 Affordability Agenda, highlighting legislation that either reduces costs ("Cost Cutters") or increases expenses ("Cost Drivers") for businesses and consumers. Recognizing growing affordability concerns, CalChamber is spotlighting impacts on business and consumer costs. Los Gatos businesses should watch this closely, as the legislation tracked by CalChamber directly affects operational costs, pricing strategies, and overall competitiveness in an already challenging economic environment. To review the first batch of proposed Cost Cutter and Cost Driver bills, click here. The lists will be updated as legislation is continuously amended over the next several weeks.
