Town: Special Town Council Study Session on Budget
On April 22, 2025, the Chamber participated in the Town Council’s special study session focused on setting strategic priorities and exploring budget-balancing approaches for the 2025–26 fiscal year. During public comment, the Chamber emphasized the importance of continued investment in destination marketing and major events, which are proven drivers of economic growth, town visibility, and small business success. We reiterated that when the business community thrives, the broader Los Gatos community benefits.
The Chamber also previewed upcoming plans to capitalize on the immense economic opportunity surrounding the 2026 Super Bowl and World Cup, which are expected to draw hundreds of thousands to the Bay Area. With additional support, our Chamber aims to launch a concerted marketing campaign and deploy new digital visitor engagement tools to guide visitors to local businesses and ensure Los Gatos is a must-visit destination.
Federal: Market Rally Amid Potential Tariff De-escalation and Fed Assurance
On April 23, 2025, Wall Street saw a notable rally, with the S&P 500 reaching a two-week high. This surge was driven by easing fears over the U.S.-China trade conflict and reassurance regarding Federal Reserve leadership. A senior White House official indicated that U.S. tariffs on China could be reduced to 50–60%, and President Trump's statement that he had no intention of firing Fed Chair Jerome Powell helped alleviate market uncertainties. The Nasdaq led the gains with a 2.3% increase, followed by the S&P 500 at 1.4%, and the Dow Jones at 1%. For more information click here.

This workshop is facilitated by Nicole Ennen, Founder of Org Empathy Consulting LLC. Nicole’s practice focuses on helping organizations balance the complexities of doing business and being human. Before Nicole started her own consulting practice, she led surveys and research teams for 7 years at Google.
