National: Tariff Refunds Flow as Government Challenges Who Qualifies
About $100 billion in tariffs struck down by the Supreme Court has now been refunded, with FedEx, UPS and DHL beginning to return eligible payments to customers who paid tariffs directly through them. At the same time, the federal government is appealing a trade court ruling requiring refunds for all affected importers, including those that did not file suit. The dispute includes import entries that were already finalized and can no longer be refunded through the normal administrative process. The government says those importers may still seek refunds through litigation, raising a particular concern for smaller businesses that may not know they are owed a refund or that a legal deadline applies.
