Local: Los Gatos Adopts Entertainment Zone Ordinance

On February 3, the Town Council unanimously approved an Entertainment Zone Ordinance that would allow public consumption of alcoholic beverages within designated downtown areas during permitted special events. Applications to activate an Entertainment Zone must be submitted to the Town at least 60 days in advance of the event. The framework emphasizes voluntary business participation and activation of public rights-of-way. For restaurants, bars, and retailers, this provides a tool to drive foot traffic, increase dwell time, and strengthen event-based revenue. Click here and here for more information.

Local: Amazon to Cut Nearly 800 Bay Area Corporate Jobs

Amazon filed notices to lay off nearly 800 corporate employees across the Bay Area, including more than 600 roles in Santa Clara County. The reductions reflect continued tech sector recalibration, which directly influences local discretionary spending, dining traffic, and retail sales. Nominations are open to the entire community, and businesses may self-nominate. A selection committee will identify three finalists in each category, with one recipient per award announced at the Gala.

Submit your nomination by Monday, February 23 at 5:00 PM.

Finalists will be announced in early March.
