State: AB 265 – Small Business Recovery Fund Act Advances in Legislature
On June 2, 2025, the California Assembly unanimously passed AB 265, the Small Business Recovery Fund Act, with a 79–0 vote. This legislation proposes a $100 million fund to provide competitive grants ranging from $2,500 to $100,000 to small businesses and nonprofits directly impacted by state-declared emergencies. Administered by the Office of Small Business Advocate, the program requires recipients to match the grant amount, aiming to support recovery and promote investment in resilient infrastructure. The bill is now under consideration in the Senate.
