Dear Friends and Members of the Chamber,
One of the great privileges of the Chamber is recognizing the individuals and organizations who help Los Gatos thrive. I am pleased to announce the finalists for the Chamber’s Stars of Los Gatos Awards (scroll to the Awards announcement box for details), honoring the people, businesses, and organizations whose leadership and service strengthen our community.
Winners in the five award categories, Business of the Year, Rising Star, Chamber Champion, Community Impact Award, and Los Gatan of the Year, will be announced live at our elegant Shine Among the Stars Gala on Saturday, March 28 at the magical Nestldown estate. The evening promises elevated cuisine, meaningful connection, and a beautiful setting under the redwoods. If you have not yet secured your place, I encourage you to register soon. We anticipate reaching capacity and would be delighted to celebrate the finalists with you.
This weekend, we are proud to support a town-wide celebration of International Women’s Day, taking place from Friday, March 6 through Sunday, March 8. Businesses across Los Gatos will invite the community to shop, dine, and support in recognition of the extraordinary women founders, owners, operators, and staff who contribute so much to our local economy. Participating businesses will display a “Support Women-Owned Businesses” seal in their storefronts and on social media while highlighting the women who are building businesses, creating jobs, and investing in our community.
With spring just around the corner, please save the date for the beloved Los Gatos Wine Walk on Saturday, April 25 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. Early bird tickets will be released on March 18, and as many of you know, this event consistently sells out.
Last month, we launched a Monthly Multi-Chamber Mixer in partnership with the Campbell, Cupertino and several other Chambers. Held on the last Thursday of each month from 8:00 to 9:00 AM at West Valley College’s Entrepreneur Center, this event offers members a new way to build relationships beyond town borders. The gathering brings together business leaders, educators, and students for a lively exchange of ideas over a light breakfast, and we look forward to growing this monthly networking opportunity.

Local: Caltrans Launches Highway 17 Corridor Survey (Open Through March 25)
Caltrans is developing a Comprehensive Multimodal Corridor Plan for State Route 17 between Santa Cruz and the I-280/I-880 interchange in San Jose to address congestion, safety, accessibility, and climate resilience along the corridor. The agency has launched a public survey to gather input from residents, commuters, and businesses that use the highway. The feedback will help guide future improvement concepts for the corridor. National: Tariff Uncertainty Grows Amid Refunds and New Lawsuits
U.S. tariff policy is entering another period of uncertainty after courts ruled that a broad set of tariffs exceeded presidential authority. A federal court has confirmed that companies that paid those now-invalid tariffs may pursue refunds, with more than 1,000 businesses already filing claims. At the same time, more than 20 states have filed suit challenging a newly proposed global tariff of up to 15% on imports, arguing it again exceeds executive authority. For businesses that rely on imported goods, the combination of potential refunds, new tariffs, and ongoing litigation could create continued volatility in input costs and supply planning. Businesses may want to monitor tariff exposure closely and stay alert to potential refund opportunities. Click here and here for more information.

Shine Among the Stars, the Los Gatos Chamber’s 2026 Gala, will be held Saturday, March 28 at Nestldown from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. Guests will enjoy an elegant, highly social evening bringing together Los Gatos’ business, civic, and community leaders for exceptional cuisine, curated beverages, and meaningful connection as we honor the people and businesses who make Los Gatos shine with the presentation of the Stars of Los Gatos Awards (see prior box).
