Thank you to everyone who participated in our Halloween PAWlooza, which raised nearly $3,000 for The Street Dog Coalition, providing free veterinary care to the pets of unhoused neighbors.
I’m proud to share that Magical Memories Holiday returns the first two weekends of December. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors—especially Presenting Sponsor Linda Lester of Lester Square—this program offers complimentary Trolley Rides through downtown, Visits with Santa, and sweet surprises like mini Icing on the Cake cookies along the way. No tickets or reservations are required. Based on last year’s response, we expect to welcome nearly 900 families and 1,400 children this season. This holiday season, the Chamber is kicking off our Window Wonderland: Holiday Window Decorating Contest for Los Gatos businesses. Starting Friday, December 5th, locals and visitors are invited to tour participating storefronts and vote via QR code for “Best Window” and “Best Outdoor Decor.”
Finally, we’re excited to introduce the Los Gatos Perks Pass—a free mobile pass (no app needed) that offers special perks and promotions at shops, restaurants, and local services through July 31, 2026. Download now to enjoy VIP treatment while supporting our small businesses.

National: FAA Orders 10% Flight Cuts as Shutdown Drags On
The FAA will reduce air traffic by about 10% at roughly 40 major airports starting Friday, citing controller shortages tied to the government shutdown. For small businesses that depend on business travel, tourism, or air shipments, expect more delays and cancellations—build in extra lead time, confirm itineraries and deliveries, and line up backup transport options where possible. National: Services Pick Up, Hiring Still Lags
U.S. services activity grew in October, with the ISM index rising to 52.4 from 50.0 in September, showing demand is improving. But the jobs index stayed below 50 for the fifth month, meaning companies are still slow to hire. For small businesses, that means more customer activity without a big labor squeeze yet. Lean into sales, but be careful about adding permanent payroll until the job market clearly strengthens. Click here for more information.
