Dear Friends and Members of the Chamber,
As tree-lined hillsides glow in gold and amber and migrating birds pause at Vasona Lake County Park on their way to warmer climates, there are countless reasons to fall head over heels for Los Gatos.
Please save the date for our Halloween Kid + Pet PAWlooza on Sunday, October 26—an afternoon of downtown trick-or-treating, a spirited costume promenade and contest, and fun for the whole family, including your four-legged babies.
Thank you for making Taste of Los Gatos on September 6 a resounding success. The festival is on the path to becoming a premier, family-friendly food and wine festival. Guests praised the variety and quality of tastings, the live music, our authentic downtown vibe and community connection, and the wine pairings.
This year we also introduced a new Taste of Los Gatos tradition: the Golden Spoon Distinction, honoring two restaurants for culinary excellence and lasting impact on Los Gatos. Congratulations to The Pastaria & Market and Tasting House on receiving the inaugural honor.
We are already incorporating feedback to make next year’s Taste of Los Gatos (save the date for Saturday September 19, 2026!) even better. Because producing Taste of Los Gatos is a complex undertaking, we have paused the Fall Wine Walk. Finally, the last GOLD First Thursday of the season is tonight—Thursday, October 2—featuring live music throughout downtown, including rockin’ Identity Problem at Grays Lane from 7 to 9:30pm.
I hope you are enjoying the palpable energy around town, and I hope to see you at our wonderful fall festivities.
Warmly,
Jennifer Lin
Chief Executive Officer

Town: Los Gatos Authorizes Business License Compliance Program
On Sept. 16, the Town Council authorized HdL—the Town’s contract operator—to implement a business license (and TOT) compliance program. The Town is taking an education-first approach to ensure businesses are properly licensed so core services are funded, while keeping the process fair and manageable. If HdL contacts you, you’ll have 90 days to get current; late fees are waived if you pay what’s owed, and reviews are capped at three years. HdL notices are legitimate, and their staff can help with your specific situation. Click here for more information.

National: Shutdown & Job Losses Cloud Business Outlook
A partial federal shutdown began Oct. 1, halting key economic data and pausing new SBA loan approvals, while ADP reported the sharpest private-sector job losses in over two years—led by small and mid-sized firms. Together, they constrain visibility and financing, heighten uncertainty around demand and wages, and argue for more cautious hiring and investment—even as attention shifts to potential additional Fed rate cuts. Click here and here for more information.

| | | | Town of Los Gatos Meetings | | Community Impact Partner - Bronze | | Lexington Hills Estate & Winery is a restored historic estate and boutique winery tucked into the Lexington Hills above Los Gatos. Owner Alexa Ingram-Cauchi has reimagined the property as a hospitality-first venue with vineyards, olive groves, curated antiques, and multiple event spaces (Manor, Chalet, Cottage) that host wine tastings, private events, retreats, and weddings. The estate emphasizes thoughtful restoration, sustainable practices, and intimate, hospitality-driven experiences—it’s both a working boutique winery and an exclusive event destination. | | Cinnamon Energy Systems is a Bay Area solar, battery, HVAC and home-electrification contractor providing residential and commercial installations since the early 2000s. They focus on full-service solar + storage projects and home electrification (electric HVAC, EV-ready wiring), and are regularly referenced in local business listings and industry directories as a Los Gatos / South Bay provider of solar and battery systems. | | Melissa M. Wheeler is a transformational teacher, mindfulness and emotional-intelligence coach, and the host of The Busy Mind podcast. She leads courses and coaching focused on stress reduction, mindfulness for busy people, and personal resilience—bringing a background in education and years of facilitator experience to her private coaching and group programs. She’s active locally (Bay Area) and runs a content hub with courses, podcast episodes, and workshop listings. | Sip Sip Hooray is a mobile beverage / self-serve drink cart and mobile bartending service that creates elevated, turnkey beverage experiences for private events, pop-ups, and fundraisers. Variations of “Sip Sip Hooray” operate as mobile drink carts / trailers in different markets (local social posts show activity in the South Bay/Los Gatos area), and the brand is often booked for mimosas, specialty drink stations, and event beverage activation. If you have a specific local owner or booking contact for the Los Gatos area, I can narrow this to the precise local listing. | Venture Christian Academy (VCA) is a well-established private Christian school serving Preschool through 8th grade since 1977. The school emphasizes a whole-child approach—academic rigor paired with spiritual formation—and offers strong enrichment and athletics programs. VCA is an active part of the Venture Church community and serves families across Los Gatos and the South Bay. | | COMMUNITY IMPACT PARTNERS | | CHAMBER TITLE SPONSOR & DIAMOND | | |
